Not much territory!

The United Countries of Baseball shows fan territories for all 30 MLB teams. If you count the fact that much of the Mets area is disputed, we probably have the smallest territory.

All the territory we need is [/pointing at our hearts] right here.

Personally, I have very little faith in the accuracy of that map. I would dispute both the size and distribution the proposed "countries" in many cases.

The Marlins' territory is wherever their fan happens to be that day.

The Mets have a dispute in much of the supposed territory of other teams also.

I would dispute the Nationals' territory. I really don't think they have any pull in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I think that's more Braves territory. I'm guessing Nike was just feeling sorry for them.

Small in size, but probably bigger than most in population.

When I was in the outer banks in October the coverage was of the Nats, not the Braves.

Huh. Interesting. Never would have guessed.

That's got to be tongue in cheek. For one thing, there are more Mets and Yankees fans in South Florida than there are Marlins fans. And half of Arizona roots for the Cubs.

And there are more Rangers fans in South Texas than Astros fans?

The Cardinals fan base is huge, a holdover from the days when they were the western most team and KMOX carried their games all over the Midwest.

I'm guessing the Marlins' sphere of influence is wildly overstated. Tealahassee? I don't think so.

True enough.

Thankfully, the people down here in Florida won't contribute a cent for a new stadium for them - or so they've voted six times - so there's always hope that they can be re-located.

quick, put a team in Vegas to plug up that hole in the west.

Pete Rose is giving 3-5 odds that won't happen.

The page is polling visitors to list zip code and team. Not the most scientific, but probably better than observation.
