Linebrink to ChiSox 4 yr/19 million

As per ESPN.com.

This guy didn't even have a great 2006-2007, and he's going from the NL to the AL. He was pretty consistently good in 2003-2005 but that was a few years ago.

Ahh, the fickle market for relief pitchers ... you can't predict it and you can't depend on it.

Rumor has it that right after acquiring Perez & Robo Hernandez from Pittsburgh Omar was trying to flip Oliver to SD for Linebrink (or maybe Linebrink + something). If true I'm glad it didn't work.

I thought Linebrink was the most overrated of this year's group of FA relievers, so I don't mind seeing somebody else commit to him for four years. Riske has less of a rep and won't command more than Linebrink, but he's better. I'm definitely curious about Troy Percival's asking price.

I remember that... it was right up against the 5 PM deadline and some of the major medias were reporting it as fact. Turns out that holding onto Ollie was the way to go.
