New calendar question - drama division

Here's something I didn't know... This former Mets first baseman is now an actor, and has appeared in movies including The Royal Tenenbaums, Get Shorty and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Who is he?

These calendar questions seem to be driving people to the UMDB. Last week's question resulted in Edgardo Alfonzo getting several daily hitcount "wins." And yesterday's winner was Greg Goossen. Coincidence? I think not!

Goossen also trained/managed boxers for a time along with a whole slew of brothers/cousins he had, calling their outfit 'Eight Goose Stables' or something along those lines for all the "Gooses" that ran it.
