Gave this some thought overnight and decided to designate the Lymphoma Research Foundation as my charity in memory of my mother in law. She was a lovely lady whose time in this world was far too short.

Try this link Its a charity arm of the company that I work for. Well not so much arm as just a foundation that one of the partners created. They do accept private donations, but its not a seperate organization or entity in the true nature of the term "organization" and "entity"

I really would rather not contribute to Steve's charity if I am paired with him, I've spent 10 minutes looking at the thing and can't find anything that looks like a charity, sorry.
|
DocTee Nov 25 2007 08:25 AM |
It's like Costanza's "Human Fund".

Have we decided on a dollar amount for the contributions? Depending what we decide, I may wish to "double dip" with an alter ego.
|

I think we're rolling with $20.

As promised, since I drew a four-star Charity Navigator charity, I upped my donation to $50.
Mets Guy, the Michigan chapter that you linked to was no longer accepting donations! (Their donations page had expired.) So I made my contribution to the national headquarters. Hope you don't mind.
|
Edgy DC Dec 07 2007 02:15 PM |
Forty dollars has been donated in honor of John C. Lunchbucket, Jr. I think I get a CD and a chance to meet Michael McDonald, so it's win-win from where I sit.
|
John Cougar Lunchbucket Dec 07 2007 02:36 PM |
$50 would have gotten you some of Harry Chapin's unsmoked pot. Thanks!
|
Methead Dec 07 2007 02:42 PM |
Contribution made.
|
A Boy Named Seo Dec 07 2007 03:29 PM |
Very cool of Edgy to double up and Yancy to plop $50. And Mendoza made 22, maybe the biggest group yet.

FANTASTIC!!! And very generous. My sister-in-law is battling the disease -- successfully, knock on wood -- and it is always so moving to participate in the race and see both the survivors and the people who have lost loved ones. Once again, the CPF blows me away. Great work, guys.

Serious about the livestock talk. $20 at Heifer.org can buy either a flock of chicks, duck, geese, a share (?) of a llama, or a share of some rabbits. I wussed out and went general donation. Not everyone's into foie grois.
|
A Boy Named Seo Dec 07 2007 06:30 PM |
Rockin' Doc goes above and beyond, too. Cool stuff.
