According to a small item in today's Daily News, Jeff Duncan asked for, and was granted his release from Binghamton yesterday.

Lastings Milledge took his job. That's why he asked for his released. He was buried on the B-Mets depth chart behind Milledge, Lydon and Malek.

And Jeff Duncan, had he waited another day, would've moved up two notches on the organizational depth chart.

I would think that Angel Pagan or Ron Calloway get the call before Duncan since both are centerfielders and on the 40-man.

BTW- my second thought was "Looks like we won't be able to trade Mike Cameron any time real soon."

62, for a split second as I was racing home, listening to the whole thing unfold on the radio, I thought the same thing, just in reverse... "if we'd only dealt him, this collision wouldn't have happened."
