Duncan Released

According to a small item in today's Daily News, Jeff Duncan asked for, and was granted his release from Binghamton yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if the Yankees don't sign him to a minor league contract for a look-see. Later

Lastings Milledge took his job. That's why he asked for his released. He was buried on the B-Mets depth chart behind Milledge, Lydon and Malek.

And Jeff Duncan, had he waited another day, would've moved up two notches on the organizational depth chart. If it's allowed, he might get re-signed by the end of the day.

I would think that Angel Pagan or Ron Calloway get the call before Duncan since both are centerfielders and on the 40-man.

Nothing I want less than to explore trading Mike Cameron. No, I'm in no way suggesting that Jeff Duncan would have been promoted, only that the opportunities to play that he was denied at Binghamton will be opened up by the void left behind by those who are promoted.

62, for a split second as I was racing home, listening to the whole thing unfold on the radio, I thought the same thing, just in reverse... "if we'd only dealt him, this collision wouldn't have happened."
