February 15 throughout Mets history:

1938: Chuck Estrada, who threw 22 innings of ugly baseball for the Mets in 1967, is born.
1959: Joe Hesketh, who would throw one of his two major career major league shutouts against the Mets in 1984, is born.
1963: Barry Jones, journeyman who pitched for the Mets in 1992, is born.
1969: Brian Williams, who has a career 1.000 BA against the Mets, is born.
1971: Terry Jones, who went 0-for-6 at Shea in the last game of the 2000 regular season, is born.
1974: Ugueth Urbina, who has never been traded to the Mets despite numerous rumors, is born.
1975: Rafael Medina, who appeared in one game against the Mets in April 1999, is born.
1977: Alex Gonzalez, who is not the Alex Gonzalez who played for the Blue Jays and Cubs, is born.
2001: Bobby Jones, who is not the Bobby Jones who was a lefty and pitched for the Rockies, signs with the Padres.

2006: As pitchers and catchers start to report to Spring Training, Seawolf18, the world's newest Mets fan, is born.

Very cool seawolf - all the best!

(BTW, my middle guy was born the day that pitchers and catchers reported in 1993 <g>)

I wouldn't count your chickens on the date, but congratulations! :)

Hey congrats! When I saw the thread title I thought maybe Pedro hooked up
with that little person he used to hang with after yesterdays game for a little
good luck.

Have him (her) on Valentines Day!

Thanks for the thoughts. And no, if it's a boy, we're not naming it Nelson de la Rosa. Although my nine-year old nephew thinks Mike, Carlos, or Pedro are all quite suitable names for a boy.

edit: If we have it on Valentine's Day, and it's a boy, we might name him Bobby Valentine.

(just kidding)

We always had in utero names for our kids while we were fighting over what we would name them for real. Bobby Valentine Seawolf sounds like a great in utero name <g>

Mazel Tov!

And as cooby said - don't count on that date.

My 6 year-old had a due date of December 29 and my 4 year-old's was January 21. They were both born on January 9.

'Cletes the fetus' is a good in utero name btw.

My 16 year old had a due date of December 29 and was born December 9.

The key is to avoid December 29. WHich means no sex on March 29.

You say it like that would be difficult for you.

Who knew we had a sex maniac in our midst?

Avoiding sex on March 29th has rarely been a problem for me.

Poor Edgy, is that a bad day for you?

It's a boy!

We had our big 20-week ultrasound today, and we're definitely having a boy. No confirmation yet on whether we plan to name the kid Pedro David Jose.

Great news!
Great timing!
He'll be ready to take over third base from David Wright.

I LOVE that mobile! You must buy it.

Pedro David Jose is the perfect in utero name for babywolf, IMO :)

See him at the CPF Picnic 2005.

There's a CPF picnic?
Won't the rest of 2005 be too cold for a picnic?

It's already on the registry. What's also cool is that the Yankee version of that mobile sucks; it's little Yankee bears. What the hell is that? I like the little Mr. Mets better.

And this will be babywolf's ride home from the hospital -

Name the little dude David Jake, or something.

Congrats!

My wife took one look at the Mr. Met mobile and said "That would scare a child!"

Willet - 'My wife took one look at the Mr. Met mobile and said "That would scare a child!"'

Well, if the little guy is going to grow up as a Mets fan, he needs to get accustomed to being traumatized by his team.

Congratulations to the Seawolf clan.
