There is a Californian
We call Bud Harrelson
He played the field like an All-Star
And boy, the man could run

He was born Derrel McKinley
On D-Day, yes it’s true
He signed with the Mets in ’63
When things were looking blue

When Bud became our shortstop
Quite soon, the gloom was gone
You knew that Bud would turn a double play
With Boswell or Millan

Oh Pete Rose, you’re an asshole
Pick on someone your own size
Now you sit in sin and misery
Which comes as no surprise

Bud couldn’t hit for power
He couldn’t manage well
But at short he was an anchor
At shortstop he excelled

Well there is a Californian
We call Bud Harrelson
He played the field like an All-Star
And boy, the man could run

HARRELSON

Oh it was funny to be seeing you brawling in the dirt
With the way you looked you understand
That we were all amazed
When you made that little scumbag Rose
Look like a pantywaist.
Now I know that there were much better skippers
Like Gil Hodges and then Valentine
And I know that you could flash leather Buddy
But you couldn’t hit it worth a dime.

Harrelson
You’d hit about .222
Oh, Harrelson
Your glove was true.

Well I see that you’re a Duck-man now
But the minors are a comedown after
All those years at Shea
You had the fans eating from your hand
But now they all chant Jose Jose
Sometimes when you would POP up to second
I would throw up my hands and I’d say
“I wish that we had a shortstop that could hit”
But we all liked you better than Rey.

Harrelson
A Series winner that was you
Oh, Harrelson
Your glove was true
Your glove was true
Your glove was true

Here's a video featuring shots of Alyson Hannigan, an actress who has appeared in TV shows and movies that I haven't seen:

Soooo tempting to vote for sharpie just because of his use of the gorgeous Alyson Hannigan.

Harrelson is too slight for fighting.

I can't believe that babyface in the suit makes that sound with his voice.

Nice work, gents.

Tension! Mounting! Yes, tension is mounting!

We expected the veteran sharpie to dominate the line of scrimmage, but it's a standoff thus far. A STANDOFF!

Note also how sharpie neglects to call Pete Rose an asshole. An omission, or a tactical choice. TACTICAL!

I rule this one... up in the air. This has been... Grover. Yes. Back to you, Biff.

(Who is "Wes Gardner"?)

While I voted for sharpie, I have to admit that the Animals video was priceless.

If I were going to enter this year, I had already made up my mind on a song to use if I got Harrelson.
I'll save it until after the contest, so nobody else uses the song.
Good job both of youze.

A good contest with two good songs and two well done parodies. I like the suits and the bow at the end of the Aniimals video that Valadius used. Sharpie counters with a hot redhead set to a classic Elvis Costello tune. Enjoyed the parodies and videos for both.

I'm claiming an 18-8 victory.

Good job, Valadius.

Unsticky me.
