Bill Richardson dropping out

Bunch of news sources, including the Times, say that Bill Richardson will be announcing his withdrawal from the campaign for the Democratic nomination tomorrow.

I still haven't made up my mind as to whom I'm going to vote for on Feb. 5, but I've never understood why Richardson was so far under the radar that he didn't even rate a separate thread in the NBF (until now). He had some major flaws, but he had a strong record as governor of New Mexico. Also, experience as a Congressman, Cabinet member, and international negotiator. And I thought he did reasonably well in Saturday's debate.

Anyway, he'll make a good VP nominee.

Because this has been framed as an Obama-Clinton matchup since Obama made the 2004 keynote. Even before Kerry-Edwards lost --- heck, even before Obama won his Senate seat --- 2008 was projected as Obama vs. Clinton.

Not to take sides with Big Media, but pretty sure it wasn't preventing anyone from starting a thread.

No candidates had a thread till Frayed Knot encouraged fewer allpurposes, and I threw up a few poorly thought-out impressions of the top 3 dems after a few state primaries. What discouraged me was that people seemed to prefer I start a thread on Romney, McCain and Kucinich rather than do it themselves.

Too bad about Richardson. Boy named Seo linked to some funny ads he did in the Election thread.

I liked him and I'm sorry to see him go.

Funny, the Dems with the best resumes -- Biden, Dodd, Richardson -- are jettisoned in favor of the ones with the thinner resumes -- Clinton, Obama, Edwards.
