For a band that belongs to a time and a place (and never a full lineup), they had enough A-material to make this hard to narrow down. Pretty much an old joke of a gimmick band by 1988, they threw out one more album as an afterthought, but it launched them on their biggest run. I like Cindy Wilson's songs. They would've been fun in the ladder challenge. I didn't watch all the videos, but Claire and Mess are a toss up. I took Mess. Planet Claire has pink air All the trees are red No one ever dies there No one has a head *sigh*

Haven't voted yet, but have to say I got a very strong thing for Roam despite it not coming around at the right time for me.

Other songs that certainly don't suck: "Ain't It a Shame" "Party out of Bounds" "Strobe Light" "She Breaks for Rainbows" "Whammy Kiss" I'm a big fan of Bouncing Off the Satellites. It's their White Album, in that they all went off and developed these songs on their own, but brought them back to the band and made something collective of their individual initiative.. But Ricky Wilson died in between the wrap and the release and they promoted it half-heartedly, and didn't tour. It's got a cool cover by Kenny Scharfe, and the psychedelic babble on "Detour Through Your Mind" is actually backmasking of Fred Schneider saying, "I buried my parakeet in the backyard. Oh-no! You're playing the record backwards! Watch out, you might ruin your needle!"

For me, it's a toss-up between Planet Claire and Channel Z. I'll add KC's half vote for Claire to mine and give it one whole vote.
