I'm getting close and am wondering:
- if we HAVE to be Tom Seaver at 10,000 posts
- the number at which we pick/ become our own avatar person.

You've carried far worse designations in your journey to Seaverdom. At least there is no concern of being stuck with the designation of Roger Clemens. Now that would be worthy of getting upset.

Thanks.

Now I've got to think of about 1,000 posts to get me quickly through 10,000 to 11,000.
I really want my person to be honored.

62, did Tom Seaver eat your dog? Show the man some love.

Please folks, quality, not quantity.

This is a journey of exploration, not a race.

I always loved that picture. The puppy in the glove was named Slider.

I just wish that once in a while he would have shown some humility or given some kudos to the batters. In post game interviews after losses, he would say things like "my mechanics were messed up today" or "I couldn't get comfortable on the mound".
Just once, I would have wanted him to just say "I hung a slider and the guy hit it out".

That's allllllll, errrrr, ok,.
I was jealous that he was married to Nancy.
There.
I said it.

I'll suffer through the 1,000 Seaver posts.
