A buffed up Ben Kingsley plays a hit man sent to San Francisco to enter AA after his drinking screws up his work. He falls for a chick. Hilarity ensues.

Yeah, I don't blame you. I gave this a 2.5 out of five, but I could easily have dumped a star off of that if I was feeling less charitable. Indo-British Kingsley trying to do a Polish-American accent comes out with something northern Irish sounding, somewhere between Liam Neeson and Van Morrison.

This is clearly an offshoot of two related subgenres --- the contrast iof an nhuman mobster seeking wussy self-help (Sopranos, Grosse Point Blank, Analyze This, Analyze That, Analyze the Other Thing) and the hired killer as it's-all-I-know-how-to-do tragic hero or ironic snarky a-moral romantic hero. I'm kind of sick of both. And the Social Security-eligible Kingsley getting romantic with a chick my age is so unentertaining. I told Cha that he sucks face with Mary-Kate Olson in an upcoming film and her head exploded. She's the one renting this crap. My job is to be a cautionary tale for you.

Kingsley is hot now. He's got about a dozen films in the pipeline.

He's a talented chap.

Doesn't mean squat in this film, though.
