I thought it was a little holder to put flowers in.

Interesting how few of the stones have baseball references. Warren Spahn's stone is practically a biography. Two featured nicknames: "Hammer" and "Salty."

And I've seen this before, but it always strikes me as odd when a living person's name is on a tombstone. Mrs. Throneberry shows her birth date, and all that's left to add is the date of her death (and Dixie's body, of course).

It strikes me how plain Casey Stengel's plaque is. I bet the plaque in Cooperstown is larger than the stone on his grave.

And what the heck is that garbage bin doing there in the background in Spahn's resting place? Some reverence for the great one, please!
