The veteran LOOGy has been signed by the Mets to a minor league deal and offered an invite to spring training. He's missed the last two seasons with two seperate injuries.

He's historically worn 73, which would make him the second 73 in Met history, after Kenny Rogers.

worth the minor league deal.
if he can get back to where he was he'll be a good asset, if not he didn't cost much.

He was actually the closer for the Twins at one point, wasn't he?

You're thinking of Juan Rincon who was a setup guy for the Twins. Ricardo had 14 saves for the Pirates in '98 but has otherwise been a LOOGY (and never a Twin).

well, damn. Stupid people with the same last names trying to confuse me. They should really do something about that.
