Good for him, but I don't imagine it will help his employability.

Not that he'll get blackballed, but I'm guesseing if a team has to choose between two similar players, they'll go for the guy who didn't have the audacity to allow the team to put off his earnings.

i have no problem with this, its like taking out insurance against sucking or having a career ending injur on Newsom's side. on the buyer's side its kinda like a stock (though maybe closer to gambling.)
only thing that would concern me is people involved with the game (umpires, managers, GMs, or worst of all arbitrators) buying into one of these things
