A man named Brady

Brady Clark (35 y/o in April, a brief NYM back in 2002) gets a NRI contract to join the last outfielder scrum.
They also made the Ben Johnson re-acquiring official.

I seem to recall Clark being labeled a 'Can't Lose' guy on account of his DEFENSE!!!! back in a different world many moons ago.

one look at his stats screams "Pass." I guess it can't hurt to have him in AA or something as an emergency replacement.

Not a bad choice. If he knocks Gotay off, that gives us four centerfielders on the roster.

It seems that not too long ago, everybody on...

(We interrupt this post for a special announcement. S. just skipped by my office dressed like a bassist in a Robert Palmer video, I kid you not. We'll return with further details as they become available. We now return to our regularly scheduled post.)
... the Brewers was sporting the goatee sans moustache look.

It's like auditions for the Mudhoney reunion were going on at Miller park.

It's a no-risk move. It's hard to like his chances given the last two seasons, but he's not costing us anything.

Is it me, or do you get the feeling that if Martinez starts the year in Binghamton, our AAA club is going to be really old?

He had an outstanding year with the Brewers a few years back.

He'd be a 2-numbered Met, since he was 15 his first turn here.

He hit with San Diego last season, though not with LA.

More importantly, (1) the modest power he had has disappeared, and (2) his platoon advantage against lefties isn't very ostentatious.

Wait... "skipped" past your office dressed like that?

Let's put a collection together to get Edgy a camera phone.

AG: >>>dressed like a bassist in a Robert Palmer video<<<

The funny thing is how wonderfully descriptive that is.

She flew by just as I read that message.

I don't get it. If I was a younger man, I'd think she was part of the employee benefits package, but now I'm just uncomfortable.

Some of youse have asked for a surreptitious photo, but what's amazing is not that she's gorgeous, because she's a little odd, to be honest. It's the Marilyn Monroe-like open breeziness of her sexuality --- none of the predatory darkness or cool detached reserve of the Palmer video vixens. Sometimes I'm walking down the corridor and she'll be flying by lightly, like an elf, and she'll stop and talk to me --- business or bullshit --- and while I answer, she'll half listen as she twirls around just to watch the flow of her hemline.

I'll look down at the skirt also, and then mutely upwards, unsure how to respond. When I catch her eye, she'll wink and fly onward.

So how's the wedding plans coming along?

I'm being a good boy. The best of boys. I've made Cha quite aware of the nymph in the workplace, and she won't be invited.

Well, maybe the bachelor party instead.

Just kidding Cha ... if you happen to read this.

Wait. Cha won't be invited, or S won't be invited?

Cha is invited. Whether I am is still a cause for concern.
