Predict the final score and what you're going to eat during the Big Game:

Pretzels and wings. 42-41 Giants

Giants 30 - Patriots 19.

Yes, 19 - two touchdowns, a field goal, and an early safety.

Yes, I have 0 and 9 in one of the pools.

Wings, pasta, The Wedge, jalapeno poppers, salads, cannolis, and beer.

Monday should be a National Holiday.

Going to the same party where we've gone for about 25 years.
The hostess is a lousy cook.
She used to bring in a 6 foot deli sandwich and have nacho and cheese platters.
These days she asks the friends to bring food.
Unfortunately, they are lousy cooks, too.
She asked my wife to brong the same jell-o mold she has made every year. Its with kiwi fruit and cranberries. Its the one thing she makes that I don't like. Too sour for my taste.

I'd commit arson for some decent wings, or even some bad wings.

At least the beer is cold.

As for the score, I'd like to see the Pats win, BIG, to silence the obnoxious Giants fans who will be there. They still razz me every year about the Nor-wide game.

I really wish they moved this game to Saturday.

33-27 pats

got a big ol' pot of my famous chili, plus a bowl of my slightly less famous guacamole.

and we're planning on leftovers for a whole week! of the chili, not the guac - that stuff just doesn't keep...

I'm a life long Giants fan, but I truthfully never expected them to make the playoffs this year, let alone make it to the Super Bowl. The Patriots are a machine, I really don't expect them to lose.

I'm thinking the Patriots win 30-23.

I'm eating chili and drinking beer. Hopefully, the Giants can make a game of it and give themselves a chance in the fourth quater.

Wife's homemade potato skins and maybe a take-out pizza.

Pats, 34-14. Though I'd much rather the score be reversed.

Nachos and possibly a pizza and wings.

42-14 Pats.

Heading to a friend's house: chili, wings and whatever veggie dish wifey is making.

Pats, 38-20. Regrettably.

Hamburgers. No score (I don't watch).

33-24 Pats

I'm at work, so I'm eating leftover Chicago-style deep-dish pizza from last night.

My kids are watching the Puppy Bowl -- with the kitten half-time show -- and eating all the cool snacks I bought when I thought I was going to be there!

Credit to Lunchbucket, KC, and bmfc for giving the Giants their due.

I'm quite pleased, but shocked with the final outcome.

That was almost as good as the Puppy Bowl!

(And the kittens were at least as good as Petty)

Wow - that was some game!

Feb 03 2008 08:37 PM

Wow! We had 23 people over. A family with Boston roots was very loud until the last minute of the game. A friend who roots for the Redskins (I'm in MD) was rooting against the Giants, but his NYker wife was rooting for the Jints as was everybody else. Nobody left early and we have a ton of food and drink left over because all eyes were glued to the game. I called my son who watched at a bar in Cambridge and he was laughing, saying that it was "dead silence" in the place.

Now onto ST and a championship of our own!

I haven't watched any of the post game show(s), but I'm assuming that Eli has been named MVP. They should just give the MVP award to the Giants' defense (or possibly the defensive coordinator). The Giants defense was the true stars of this game. They shut down and dominated the most prolific scoring offense in the history of the NFL.

The Giants D-Coordinator can just about write his ticket for any of the remaining head coaching vacancies (WASH, ATl, OAK).
