Not that I hate America or anything, but why should I get excited over people's attempts to sellme bad beer?

so far, the commercials suck. the t-mobile ad with chuck and dwade was easily the best, as it and the tide talking stain ad were the only two that didn't have me either cringing or wincing.

i'm not sure what the worst ad so far is... the lifewater ad wasn't great, that's for sure. the careerbuilder ad might've been worse. but the pepsi max ad with 'what is love' was awful, and horribly dated. i mean, really? i'm all for classic music, but this year, as of the half, we have dated, dated, and cliche in the aforementioned what is love, the aforeallusioned thriller, and the rocky theme.

and i swear bud and fedex are just rolling out retreads. i can't tell if they're new ads or just unoriginal...

If the Chuck/D-Wade one was the one on the golf course where Chuck screws up Wade's putt, it's old too.

I liked the Thriller one myself, but don't remember what it was for. I wanted it to be for Geico, but it wasn't.

I do loves me some Tom Petty, though.

The Bud Light ads were good, as always.

We liked the Cavemen making fun of the Cavemen series.

And it was nice that Charlie Brown got the Coke bottle :)

The Barkley/Wade spots are always pretty good. My favorite 2 years in a row.

I thought Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers put on a nice halftime show. Far better than most of the perfomances of recent years.

The ads were, as a whole, quite disappointing. Definitely a weak year for Super Bowl ads. Luckily, it was actually a good game.

the coke balloon ad wins it for me. by far the best, imo.

second might be the t-mobile one.

there were not many good ones. some ok ones.

and i'm glad i have no need for either sales leads or a new career and am therefore not in either of those target demographics...

amp'd mobile might've taken the crown from pepsi max for worstest ad...

oh, and it totally makes sense that derek jeter, driver of that blazing orange ford edge, would drink the (light) purple G2 sports drink.

Petty was good, but he's no Prince.

Thought the same thing and for the life of me I can't remember what that ad was for.

I thought Petty was bleh, seemed very dated in that setting.

Ads: A few minor chuckles, no LOLs, and a bunch of whatthefuckweretheythinkings?

Petty was fine.

Petty was okay. Agreed, not nearly Prince.

I barely watched the commercials. I was in a loud restaurant/bar with a buncha people. Lotsa fun.

Thought the talking stain was really good and I also enjoyed the witch doctor shrunken head one.

Liked the Bud Light ad with the guys bringing camouflaged beers to the party. "Gotta make a cheese run!"

I watched parts of the game on TiVo delay, because issues with kids and pets made me occasionally have to hit the pause button, so I didn't see ALL of the commercials. (I fast-forwarded whenever I could.)

I liked the Underdog balloon commercial. None of the others really sent me at all.

What was the deal with the Derek Jeter commerical? Why did mold and mildew follow him wherever he went?

The Bill Frist- James Carville Coke ad was amusing.

Yeah, but I was afraid it was going to end with them kissing under a full moon.

I wrote the first three of these four viral video vignettes for Pepsi:

They were produced in conjunction with the Bob's House ad that aired in the pregame; that commercial was conceived by deaf employees at PepsiCo and starred a few of them as well. That ad here:
