Africa Cup of Nations is going on at the moment in Ghana, only getting to see highlights and reading reports but some absolutely cracking goals scored so far.

Semi-Finals starting the 7th with Ghana playing Cameroon in Accra and Côte d'Ivoire playing Egypt in Kumasi. The dream final between Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire is on track although Egypt as current champions will be tough to beat.

Speaking of Egypt last Friday the team sacrificed a cow for good luck in the quater final played Monday against Angola, it worked they won.

Egypt kicked the shit out of the Ivory Coast. That cow thing must've worked.

The Prem announced plans to extend the season by 1 game for an international match in a bunch of different cities, including LA and NY.

I'd love to see it, but think that it shouldn't count in the league standings. Make it a friendly or a location for an FA Cup round or something. The 38-game schedule right now is perfect and to make it unbalanced for everyone by one game is stupid to me.

Anyway, Fergie's pissed about it and the papers in Britain have all gone ape shit, but different reasons.

Egypt beat Cameroon 1-0 to retain the Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile in news closer to my heart Italian legend Giovanni Trapattoni is set to become the new manager of the Republic of Ireland in May.

I can only describe the search for a new manager as a three ring circus, the FAI ( football association of Ireland) who's job description it is to hire the manager instead hired a three man panel of experts to do the hiring for them thus absolving themselves of any blame should it all go pear shaped like the last man they hired. Steve Staunton played over 100 times for the Roi and was a class person , was hired by Delaney without any management experience at all and predictably it all went sour.

The Roi have not qualified for a tournament since 2002, while we certainly don't feel like we have any right to qualify at the least the public expects a better showing that the last time around.

I think most will be pleased that Trapattoni is the new manager, the favorite all along was the London chancer Terry "El Tel" Venables who certainly was not the favorite amongst the media in Ireland.

First Pedro at the cockfight, now this. Not a good week for farm animals.

The home is believed to have been built on the site of Leavesden Hospital, a mental asylum that shut in the Nineties.

The place shut in the nineties and the location is already a matter of speculation?

Any update on the status of Ronaldo?
The International star player injured his leg in a match a few weeks ago, and it may require surgery.

It may be a career ending injury, ligamnets are torn right off and this is his second major knee injury and he's not that young anymore.

At his age coming back in 18 months is a tough ask.
