In keeping with the 'albums you really like' thread....

My top songs are skewed some by the fact I bought an iPod and learned iTunes initially to self-dj my wedding. All of these songs were a part of that, though mostly because I liked them to start with.

I shuffle a lot and the iPod seems fond of playing songs that I wouldn't necessarily play over and over myself. With that caveat this is a fair sample of my music listening the past three years:

My top 10 is deeply skewed by my running playlist:

"Baby, Ride Easy" is Dave Edmunds with the woefully underrated country-new wave crossover Carlene Carter. I kind of suspect her behind the breakup of Rockpile.

I have no idea what this is but I can't wait to get home and download it just because I want to be able say that, yes, I do in fact speak Freezepop. And P.S. irish - I dig that Manic Street Preachers stuff more every time I hear it.

I do some shuffling, but mostly rotate a lot; it's unusual for me to play an album twice in a month, so my numbers are skewed by the one or two that I did play often. I also listen to albums from start to finish, so the number of most of their songs clump together.

Cheers Willets, soup I have meant to ask you about the Manics , glad you like it, that song I hae above is worth picking up online.......also I love the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole version of those songs...first time I heard it on NPR's "All Things Considered" I spent hours trying to find out who the singer was...

My wife heard what we were doing and wanted her 10-most played on here, largely because she didn't want to be "tainted" by my list.

I'm not necessarily a fan, but I love this song. I'm actually surprised it didn't come up in my top 20.

During that "Love is For Lovers" period I remember them pulling out a fine version of "Suspicious Minds" for the encore. I probably last saw them in 05. They seem to regroup for a couple shows every year or two, that is, when Peter Holsapple is not busy playing sideman for REM or (yikes!) Hootie and the Blowfish.

Just taught myself the guitar part for that 2 nights ago. Great song.

Oh very cool, really great guitar in that.

Agreed. I just can't get the phlegm part down.

Yeah, that's the problem with learning Tom Waits songs. They're never quite complete without the phlegm.

I was going to start a new thread asking everybody to post their iTunes Top 25 Most Played Songs, but thought I should check in case my idea wasn't as original as I thought. Well, it wasn't -- here's my list;

This list is weird even for me. I haven't been using my iPod much lately, so this is from my Ampache music organizer, and I'm not sure what time period it covers.
