Mets take a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth. They're so banged up that they've made only two non-pitcher substitutes, sending Ruben Tejada in for Jose Reyes, and Ezequiel Carrera (your #28 prospect) in for Wright. Tejada is 2-2 and is hitting .750. Two scoreless by Sosa. Maine started and gave up a run in three innings, striking out three and walking none.

I thought there was a "no pegging" rule. But maybe that's just wiffle ball.

Not worried about him too much at this point anyway. I'd consider it a BAD sign (ie. injuries) to see him prior to September and, even then, nothing more than just a courtesy call-up. 2010 for a starting job is still the most realistic timeline IMO.
