I'm glad no one got hurt and I hope this isn't a precursor this type of be-
havior, but that is a stupid little building and I hope they just tear it down.

it has a long tradition and obviously isn't just for show, they do get their fair share of recruits there.
whoever did this deserves a life sentence.

One day we'll agree on something.

Am I the only one kind of freaked out by this?

It's 2008. My guess is that anybody who bombed something in Times Square, even if he or she used an IED no bigger than pog, was electronically photographed at least a hundred times.

I'm Gene Woodling.

I'm not particularly thrilled about this.

What was weird was that I was watching the local Philly news this morning (they have the best weather team, and I'm a weather junkie), and they mentioned a bomb going off in Times Square. So I flipped to the New York stations to try to get some details - I went to 4, 5, 7 and 11, and got bupkis. You'd think there would at least be a scrawl about it or something.

i'm not only because i see it more as an extremely aggressive act of vandalism moreso than as a terrorist attack meant to harm people and cause panic. at about 3 or 4 in the morning, the guy clearly waited for nobody to be around before making his statement. if he wanted to fuck shit up, i think he could've waited instead for 3 or 4 in the afternoon, and had a much greater impact.

well, this specific attack at least. the general notion of a bomb going off in times square - very unsettling. but this guy, specifically, does not worry me much. the next guy, yes.

to call it an act of "vandalism" is one hell of an understatement. it was a BOMB not a can of spray paint. the perpetrator of this act is a terrorist, its just lilelythat the political motivation behind his actions was anti-war actvism rather than islamic extremism.

also, isn't it just dripping with irony that someone who is "against war" (and this is just a reasonable presumption of this guy's motives not a fact thats been reported) would use a BOMB in a public place to make his "point"? lock him up and throw away the key.

Nobody is saying this guy is a good person. You don't need to point out irony to us like we're stupid.

They just don't agree with your sentence.

He also didn't call it "vandalism." He called it "an extremely aggressive act of vandalism."

No need to captialize BOMB. I imagine few people know what a bomb is better than marathon.

Agreed. All people who use bombs to make political points should be locked up.

Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney, here are your orange jumpsuits....

Worse maybe, because I have this evil urge to push peoples' buttons. At least on the internet.
