Yeah, let's get some clarity. Do the Nats' records include the Expos? Do the Rangers' records include the Senators?

Etc.

Re-clarification -- (I thought it was clear in the initial post!)

Braves = Boston, Milwaukee and Atlanta
Orioles = St. Louis and Baltimore
Dodgers = Brooklyn and Los Angeles
Giants = New York and San Francisco
Athletics = Philadelphia, KC and Oakland
Nationals = Washington and Montreal
Rangers = Washington and Texas
Twins = Washington and Minnesota
Brewers = Seattle and Milwaukee

This should answer Rockin Doc's question and be a gentle reminder to Edgy that his Jon Rauch answer was not exactly what the judges were looking for.

---

I'll let a few more people get some guesses in before revealing answers.

DocTee got 10, Rockin' Doc 6 and AG/DC 12.

Gentle reminder that he's a non-reading dope.

I'll replace Rauch with ex-Met Tim Burke.

Guesses or not, you still did get 4 right.

Even though Quilvio Veras wasn't a pitcher. Did you maybe mean Dan Quisenberry?

Correct Answers

Offensive Categories

Diamondbacks - Stolen Bases
Tony Womack - Rockin' Doc, AG/DC

Cubs - RBI

White Sox - Runs
Frank Thomas - Nymr83

Indians - Home Runs
Jim Thome - Doc Tee, Rockin' Doc, Nymr83

Tigers - Games
Al Kaline - Rockin' Doc.
Kaline had just 28 more games as Tiger than Cobb.

Marlins - Hits

Angels - Home Runs

Dodgers - Hits

Twins - Home Runs
Harmon Killebrew - DocTee, Rockin' Doc, AG/DC, Frayed Knot
Possibly the easiest, although I would always forget Killebrew as a 500 homer guy. Most of the franchise records are his, Puckett's or Walter Johnson's.

Yankees - Hits
Lou Gehrig - DocTee, Rockin' Doc, AG/DC
Jeter needs only 366 to take over the franchise lead (he's still behind Mantle and Ruth, and passed DiMaggio this year).

Athletics - Hits
Bert Campaneris - Rockin' Doc
Henderson is third.

Giants - RBI
Mel Ott - AG/DC
Ott (1860) has exactly one more RBI as a Giant than Mays. Bonds third, McCovey fourth.

Devil Rays - Home Runs
Aubrey Huff - DocTee, Nymr83
Huff 128; McGriff second with 99.

Rangers - Hits
Pudge Rodriguez - Frayed Knot
Pudge has 31 more than Palmeiro. Gonzalez 3, Michael Young 4, Sierra 5.

Blue Jays - Hits
Tony Fernandez - AG/DC
Delgado is second. He also leads Toronto in HR, RBI and Runs.

Pitching Categories
Braves - Strikeouts
John Smoltz - Nymr83
Smoltz-Niekro-Spahn-Glavine-Maddux. Smoltz passed Niekro this past season.

Orioles - Saves
Gregg Olsen - Frayed Knot
Tippy Martinez is #2.

Red Sox - Losses
Tim Wakefield - DocTee
Wakefield is entering his 14th(!) season with Boston. He is still 34 wins behind Young and Clemens though (who are tied at #1 for Boston).

Reds - Games
Pedro Borbon - AG/DC
Thought this was the toughest one in the whole quiz.

Rockies - Wins
Jason Jennings - DocTee
Jennings 58; Astacio 53; Francis 47.

Astros - Wins
Joe Niekro - AG/DC
Larry Dierker was #2. Oswalt (#3) is still 32 wins behind Niekro.

Royals - Strikeouts
Kevin Appier - Rockin' Doc
Mark Gubicza is #2.

Brewers - Strikeouts
Teddy Higuera - DocTee, AG/DC
Ben Sheets will take over in 2008 (he's currently 38 behind).

Mets - Losses
Jerry Koosman - DocTee, AG/DC

Phillies - Saves

Pirates - Innings Pitched
Bob Friend - AG/DC
The hardest ex-Met to get in the quiz.

Padres - Wins

Mariners - Innings Pitched

Cardinals - Saves
Jason Isringhausen - DocTee, AG/DC
I expected some Lee Smith guesses.

Nationals - Games
Tim Burke - DocTee, AG/DC

Fernandez, Appier, Koosman, Friend, Isringhausen and Burke are the Mets correctly identified so far. One more outstanding.
