Pedro and simulated starts

I have not been very actively following the situation, but it appears to me that Pedro has yet to face any "real" ST batters yet, but has just thrown two simulated games. I know the first was rained out, but why the second one?

I am mildly concerned.

'Cause he didn't want to go on the long road trip and they wanted to keep him on the normal rest. He's scheduled to pitch to real batters this weekend.

He's such a diva.

He doesn't like pitching spring training games in grey pants.

Not only did a rain day push what would have been his first "real" start onto a road trip day but it was one against Boston and I don't think anyone wanted to deal with all that drama.

And that's why we all love him so.

Eh.

Send me to Met Hell if you must but I'm not a big fan of a guy who's basically been unable to help his team since September of 2005. I meran, I admire his ability and spirit and all, but, please, Pedro, let's be a part of the solution this season.

Speak for yourself. I love the animal cruelty.

Unfortunately, Nelson de la Rosa passed away about a year and a half ago.

The first 18 months of Pedro were great. The last 18, not so great. This will be the year he proves his worthiness as a Met. Depending on who you believe, no Pedro= no Beltran.

Schaefer Pitcher of the Month, September 2007.

He was one of the few guys contributing (along with Alou, Wright, and Beltran) during the infamous collapse.

However, it would have been nice if his injury recovery didn't prevent him from squeezing in an additional start that month. It might have made all the difference.
