Fucking Weather

Farmer Ted
Mar 13 2008 02:45 PM

Fucking zero sunshine for 8 days. Overcast, rain possible for the next four days. I've fucking had it.

This is for the Red Light Forum?

Is one of our members a weatherman?

This post ended a string of six months of pleasantness. (That is, with no posts in the RLF.)

I just needed a place to vent with some off color language. Lo and behold, I needed my sunglasses 30 minutes after posting this originally. It won't last, though.

Weather Channel bimbos lie.

You can vent in the NBF - there's no language police there.

It's not about the looks. It's about the forecasting.

What are you talking about? It was gorgeous here today.

And not a goy among 'em is what I was hmmming about.

Do these clowns really forecast the weather? I don't think so. If you like
their personality or delivery just say so ... it ain't about no forecast.

The best weather forecast is generally found here:

John Boleris is Jewish? Really?

And whether he is or isn't, you seem to be a bit obsessed with the subject, and very willing to jump to conclusions about other people's motivations.

I've seen the NBC10 weather center - they forecast there. And Mr. G knows his stuff. The flip side is Eyewitness News 7 in NYC - they definitely don't do more than read a teleprompter there.

National forecasts don't work for me. Living between NYC and Philly, I need to find the best of those two cities and average them to figure out the weather around here.

My father was a childhood friend of Mr. G as they belonged to the same Jewish Center youth group. They also share a birthday.

Uh, you put in your town and state and then you bookmark it. Zip codes too.

I just did your town and got this:

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming west.

Friday: A chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming east around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

And who said Jen was good looking?

themetfairy
Mar 13 2008 07:01 PM

I prefer My-Cast, which I get from NBC10. It gives me a 9-hour forecast with a visual display, as welll as a radar picture (which I can set in motion or end the loop with the click of a button), and options to see the 2-day forecast and the one-week extended forecast.

I have no opinion on why you like Jen. It's your fucking business why you like whom you like. I merely jumped to the conclusion that you "Hmm"ed my choices due to their looks because I couldn't figure out why else you'd have anything to say about them.

themetfairy
Mar 13 2008 07:14 PM

BTW, here is the story of why we rely on John Bolaris.

He was with NBC10 back in 2000, that weekend when the Mets played the Red Sox in Boston and we met for the first time. We were flying from Trenton that Friday, and flying home that Sunday. Before leaving for the airport, we were watching NBC10, and Bolaris was explaining that there was a high that was going to keep the rain in NJ all weekend but was going to keep it dry in Massachusetts during that time.

When we arrived in Boston, all of the local forecasts talked about how it was going to rain all weekend in Boston. Even the sign in the elevator showing the local forecast showed rain for the whole weekend.

If you recall, that was a nice weekend. We maybe had six drops of rain that Sunday, but that was it.

Ever since that time, whenever we see John Bolaris, we comment that he's more accurate than the elevator.

And I honestly have no idea what religion he is. Nor do I care.

During the time that Bolaris was the lead forecaster for NBC10, Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz was the second in command there. He became the lead forecaster when Bolaris left for CBS2 a few years ago. NBC10 is our weather station of choice - that's the sole reason why I watch the Philly news in the morning rather than one of the NY channels.

Do my motivations meet your standards yet?

KC

Oh don't go getting your echelon clouds in an uproar, this is the red light
forum and I was red lighting.

Jen is hot, she was the hottest thing on the weather channel even when 8
months pregnant.

I always thought Mr. G was kinda gayplastic.

themetfairy
Mar 13 2008 07:23 PM

I don't give a shit what Mr. G is - all I care about is that he gives the most accurate NY forecast around.

Considering the number of times you've criticized my views based on religion, it's hard to know when you're joking.

The meathooks of the blonde in that pic would get that dreidl up to about 6,000 RPM.

It was a "changeable" day Thursday as I recall. But it was kinda warm, at least.

Hey Farmer Ted, our office might be moving closer to your office soon.

Farmer Ted
Mar 17 2008 08:24 AM

The powers that be felt my pain and are giving sufficiant sunshine. To be followed soon by warmth as I have now gone through two cords of wood for our woodstove this winter. The Pilgrims musta had it real tough.

Coobs, what's the new address for the work digs?

About two weeks ago, I planted grass seed.
Good decision.
It has rained 12 of those 14 days.
I should have a jungle out there soon.
