Giants-Dodgers scoreless in the sixth.

Matt Cain up to 114 pitches through 5 2/3 innings. Three hits, four BB. At this pace, he'll be throwing with his left hand by the AS Break.

Giants have an anemic offense.

Larry Bowa just ejected from his 3B coaching duties by Ed Montague-- he went typically berserk.

I'm sure it happens from time to time, but i can't remember a 3B coach getting ejected since Cookie Rojas in the 1999 Todd Pratt HR game (Cookie was arguing fair/foul with the 3rd base ump on a potential extra base hit down the line)

From the look of it Bowa was resisting an order to remain within the confines of the coaching box, a rule the umps have been asked to enforce more often this season.

Jon Miller and Mike Krukow were trying to figure out the last time a third base coach was ejected-- they gave up but conceded that the last previous incident probably involved Bowa, too.

I actually miss Cookie Rojas. I thought he was particularly goofy.

Cookie is doing the Spanish broadcast for the Marlins.

Brian Bannister pitches 7 innings against the Tiggers giving up 2 hits (both to Edgar Renteria) and no walks. Sheffield hit into a double play in the first so Bannister only pitched to one over the minimum.

KC completes the shutout over the Tigers. Edgar Renteria ended up with all three of the Detroit hits. Bannister went the first seven innings.

This one had me nervous.
Jays put on about a thousand runners in the first few innings but also hit into FOUR GiDPs** or their 3-0 (later 5-0) lead would have been larger.
Yanx got 2 back on an ARod HR, and then got two cheesy hits to lead off the 9th to bring ARod up again as the tying run and I'm thinking that this is exactly the type of game they have a habit of winning even though they had no business even being close.

Foretunately ARod, Giambi & Cano then went out 1-2-3

** On edit: Toronto hit into FIVE DPs

Reds hotshot rookie pitcher Johnny Cueto has a perfect game through 5 innings with 8 strikeouts vs. the DBacks.

Justin Upton ended the PG with a homer to lead off the 6th.
