Oh, so that's what gonzo journalism is.

God bless the Good Doctor and the legacy he left.

How do I get to be dubbed "a national treasure"?

Fulfill the fantasy of every journalist who'd ever dealt with a difficult subject and swat him out of the park with a mighty cut. Thwack! Just like that.

I've wondered this myself.

]

I tried to picture Jose writing his book and his movie. Hunched over, his broad shoulders casting a shadow across his desk like a raptor's wings, his brow furrowed in concentration, his massively muscled body tensed in anticipation of that torrent of words about to flow out of him like urine for one of the many steroid tests he'd been forced to take during his baseball career

This is hilarious, this guy is killing Canseco.

That's a journalist who did not go home until he got his bone.

i think there's probably nobody in the world who comes across as LESS likeable then Jose Canseco.

That was brilliant, some great stuff in there , I wonder if there will be any fallout regarding the claim that Canseco and or people close to him tries to extort money from Maglio Ordonez to keep his name out of "Vindicated".

Like what, that people might think poorly of him?

Not surprisingly he's been trying to get publicity interviews for the book all over the place.
Nothing unusual about that of course, except that Dan LeBatard of the Miami Herald claimed that Canseco agreed to an interview with them - and then backed out after they wouldn't cough up $1,000 bucks for one.
Meanwhile, over at WFAN, M&MD won't put him on but there's supposedly been an in-house fight about which other show does get to host him, a battle that was settled by FAN mgmt in favor of the Boomer & Carton morning show (and at the expense of Benigno & Roberts in mid-day).
Benigno and his former (sleaze-ball) partner Sid Rosenberg were the ones who had Jose's ex-wife on for an *Hour-Long/In-House* spot when 'Juicy' was published.

Definitely a fun read.

I like how his ex-wife knew she didn't have the dedication needed to be a dancer so she decided to be a vetrinarian instead. Hilarious.

Well I thought that maybe he'd be in trouble with the Law for attempting to extort someone.
