OK, so El Dookie gets the start today and I assume unless he craps the bed badly or gets hurt again he's No. 5, depending on what you read. It will be interesting to see what kind of pressure he puts on his designated reliecver, Mike Pelfrey, and how he responds. Also in the llineup are Fernando Tatis, playing left field, and Brady Clark DHing. Up to Clark here to dazzle his way into a NY-bound plane ticket. Word is Tatis has already been issued team-logoed luggage. Hopefully the Orioles show up to play; they appear to have most of their guys in there today. A meaningful game in Spring Training for the Mets, at least in regards to the fifth starter.

El Duque struggles thru the 3rd (1B, 2B, line-out DP, 2B, BB, FO) but gives up just one run.

Hernandez is done for the day: 5 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 2 K Pelfrey has walked the first 2 guys to face him.

How depressing. The O's are down their last out and Pelfrey had been scoreless through 3.2 when he gives up 2 runs and O's tie it 3-3. It's hard to make me hat baseball days before a new season starts but the Mets have done it.

To top it off, 3 runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, and the Mets lose. Beat it, Pelfrey.

Having sat through his outing at Port St. Lucie last Sunday, I don't want Pelfrey or his mouthguard anywhere near Shea right now.
