Nats Park

I went to tonight's exhibition game between the Nationals and Orioles which was the first game at Nats Park. The place is outstanding. If you've been to CBP in Philadelphia, you have an idea of what Nats Park is like except that this park seems a little smaller, a little more intimate. The sightlines are great. There is plenty to see around the place, including numerous food places run by local companies and not the stadium food vendor. I was impressed and wondered how CitiField could top it.

The food was a problem tonight as there were long lines all night. This will be a bigger problem tomorrow with a full house.

As we left, a guy in the streets was selling, as he put it, "God Damn hats, $10"--I wondered if "F'in Hats" cost more.

When Milledge got drilled on the ankle, I didn't mind. I rooted for LoDuca (they played "Best of My Love" by the Emotions as his at bat music and not "Stayin' Alive). It was nice seeing Chad Bradford. The Orioles are horrid.
