My brother-in-law has been a season ticket holder at Shea since 1962. His family is fairly wealthy and they have a company that generates quite a bit of cash. As a result they have season tickets to the Mets, Yanks, Rangers and Knicks. their seats at all the venues are excellent. Two rows behind the dugout at Yankee Stadium, 6 rows off the field at Shea, about 10 rows back from the court at Knicks games and right on the glass for Rangers games.
Not surprisingly these seats are pricey. The seats at Shea have been between $85.00 - $100.00 per seat per game so I'm guessing the Yankee seats have been comparable.
The email that he recently got from the Yankees about the prices at the new Yankee Stadium are just unbelievable though. If he wants the same seats in a similar location at the new place they will cost him $500.00 per seat per game. Yes - $500.00 per seat, per game.
Kinda lets you see what's in store for Mets fans.
Here's a copy of the email he got:
