What Are Those Things Called?

What do you call those toys where you write with a stylus, and afterwards you can pick it up, erase it all, and start all over again? My hubby wants to buy some of them for his Little League coaches, and we can't remember what they're called. Thanks.

Etch a sketch?

Not exactly. You shake the etch a sketch to erase it. This is the thing where you pick up the clear top layer to erase it.

When I was a kid, we called them "Magic Slates."

Magic Slates it is. When the discovered that the US Embassy in Moscow was bugged into uselessness, someone testified that the only secure way to tell anyone something was to use a Magic Slate.
