Brian Cowan should be the new guy, I'm surprised that he quit because even though his personal life and shady finances have been in the courts the past few years there was no public outcry for him to go. I think maybe something bigger is coming, he will become the first Irish PM to address the US Congress in what will be his last act as leader of the Republic.

Is there a video there?, I can't see from work. Bertie's mentor the late great Charlie Haughey( former Taoiseach) once referred to him as the "the most skilful, the most devious and the most cunning of them all", so this could be the last master stroke by Ahern, he was due to give evidence in the Tribunal today regarding his finances. Ahern will exit politics knowing that he led the country in great economic times and with the ten year anniversary of the Belfast Agreement next week he will be praised for all that.

There's video. It goes back to the Iowa Caucus. It's hard to know what to credit Ahern with, but what time to be Taoiseach.

Finally got to watch that video , that kind of charm from Obama will be loved in Ireland should he ever go, I do like how his name Barack is pronounced in Ireland.
