Vic Sage Apr 17 2008 01:20 PM |
anybody else going to be there?

Beautiful night for a game.

Exactly. They don't let us (the great unwashed) down on the field level, you know...

Too bad I saw this after the game... I would have dropped by if you were still there late. At that point, the ushers looked like they stopped caring, given that half the stadium occupants seemed to be in the first 10 rows.

Let's take bets on when Vic left last night. In this weird place called the CPF, winner donates $10 to the community chest.

No way. Split after 10
|
Gwreck Apr 18 2008 08:03 AM |
End of the 12th.
|
soupcan Apr 18 2008 08:04 AM |
I'll say 11.
|
Centerfield Apr 18 2008 08:09 AM |
Ye of little faith. Why do you think he's sleeping in today?
|
soupcan Apr 18 2008 08:10 AM |
'Cause he stayed for 11 innings and is as old as me.
|
AG/DC Apr 18 2008 08:41 AM |
End of seven.
|
sharpie Apr 18 2008 08:43 AM |
End of 9.

7? A 2-1 game and you say he left after 7? Wow. Even if he did would he admit to that?
|
AG/DC Apr 18 2008 08:57 AM |
He's got young kids, the Mets were scuffling away their chances to tie, and he hates Shea.
|
soupcan Apr 18 2008 09:07 AM |
I think you're selling him short.
|
metirish Apr 18 2008 09:10 AM |
Vic fell asleep late in the game and his kids woke him when it finished , so while he stayed for the full 14 he was out of it.

A lot of other choices were taken, so I squatted end-of-seven. It was a flanking maneuver.

End of 13 still open. End of 8 is still out there too, but that's unlikely considering the Mets tied it in that inning. Half-innings are also available, but I don't know anyone who leaves just before their team is about to hit.

I'm with AG/DC, end of seven. He stuck around for Lazy Mary, watched a few more at bats by the home team, and then hopped the train.

I vote he is still there. Doesn't want to leave his fancy shmancy field level seats. This would also explain why he has not posted yet.

i was there the whole time, i'll guess that vick left after the foolish subbing of Sanchez for Feliciano and then Feliciano for Smith wasting 2 pitchers when sanchez could just as easily have finished the inning.

Benjamin Grimm Apr 18 2008 01:02 PM |
I wasn't too thrilled with that either. It had me wondering if Willie realized that the Mets were playing an extra-innings game.

they confiscated my friend's water bottle but not my 1-liter dr brown's cream soda, go figure.

Schoenweiss was going to be the long man if the game continued , we need Wise for such situations.

that's because you're 6'10 and 320.....

That was like when the confiscated by bag at Yankee stadium (a day after letting me go in with the same exact bag) and while I was arguing with the guy about letting me in with the bag, I watched AT LEAST 3 women walk by with purses BIGGER than my bag.
|
sharpie Apr 18 2008 02:10 PM |
Yeah, I had that happen the last time I went to Yankee Stadium. I had to go across the street to a bowling alley where you check your bag for $5. Rip-off.

Funny thread, I hope Vic is ok. Probably had the day off.

I believe you are confusing me with Nats pitcher Jon Rauch. He is enormous (in the tall way) and a stark contrast to teammate Ray King (who is enormous in the other way.)

I wrote to Vic and got an Out-of-Office Reply.

He couldn't possibly still be at Shea could he...?
