Robert Plant may have been, as KC claims, the least talented member of LedZep, but he was not at sea when the band moved on. He experimented, alternately with reflective art rock and goofy cocky rockabilly, taking himself more and less seriously.

Urg. Without Jimmy Page or Alison Krauss, Robert Plant kinda sucks.

Desert island castaways can't be choosers.

Well, since I had to choose, I chose "In The Mood."

I'm going to have to agree. I was hoping a Honeydripper's song or a song with Krauss would be among the options.

Listen again. While a lot of these sound of their time ("Burning Down" sounds like Zep produced and drummed by Phil Collins, "Heaven Knows" like Simple Minds), there are a lot of spicey meatballs in the plate.

"Tall Cool One" always puts me in an upbeat mood. If I ever got to meet Plant, I'd love to ask him about Big Log. ...

I'll admit it, I've purchased more Plant solo albums than Led Zep albums (1-0) not necessarily because one was superior to the other but that I always had a roomate or neighbor who had the entire collection of the latter.

What do you think inspired me to start a DL poll? I don't see how it's surprising that Def Leppard got more votes than Robert Plant solo. They've sold a hundred bajillion albums worldwide and if you stop a random person on the street in NYC, odds are they'll know many more DL songs than Plant solo songs.
