How many desert island polls are too many?

I voted two is fine , it's certainly not written in stone but I think there are a few designated starters of such polls , at least in my mind.

Must they always be about picking the least gay song from a list of uber-gay music? Just saying, Erasure sucks ass.

You don't have to be obnoxious about it, I asked that somebody start one and three people happened to respond more or less at once. Jeets is flagged 15 yards for a late hit, but who could be surprised at that. Part of the challenge of the DIMXT is having to consider gay bands that suck along with the straight bands that don't suck, the gay bands that don't suck and the straight bands that suck. And remember, this is not a choice of the band, but of their song. Nobody is going to care how cool or uncool you look or sound like when stranded, cuz you are going to be there alone.

Yeah but even stranded alone I would still get no respect for having Erasure's greatest hits on my iPod.

That pretty much sums it up. There wouldn't be multiple polls if Lunchbox hadn't asked for help and we weren't all geeks with time on our hands wanting to help a friend. Except for Rogers of course, who just doesn't get it. BTW, I have selections of Erasure's greatest hits on my iPod too. All the songs in the poll in fact except for the stupid ABBA cover.

Unless I know or care about the band in the first place I skip these. Also, don't really care for watching a bunch of videos at work (or at home neither). When I do know or care about the bands I'm totally there. The current lot I'll take a pass on.
