Me, here, among the more senior members of the New York Baseball Giants Nostalgia Society (that would be just about everybody):

I'm the one peering in at the portable DVD player from the right (NY Mets shirt, NY Giants jacket and cap). Not quoted in the story. Just happy to be there.

I could tell the photog liked my jacket, so I kept wandering by his lens.

That's the pose I use when I'm around tourists taking pictures at NYC landmarks. When the photog is ready to snap the shot, I just sort of lean in the backgrouond with a confusing look on my face. When they get back to Europe days later, they'd say (in German accent), who's this fucking fool? Nowadays, with digital photos, I'm usually caught in seconds with my dumb-look face deleted instantly.

All in favor of a NY Mets Nostalgia Society?

Are the Mets defunct enough for that?

Their bullpen seems to be.

I advocate for the establishment of a research society --- a sort of micro-SABR with conferences and papers presented and stuff.

Canapes too, of course. Always canapes.
