Chicago and Buffalo, two chilly, lake-bound midwestern towns hosting films about men who can't grow up.

High Fidelity. I liked Buffalo '66 but hadda go with Chicago here. Finally one of these where I've seen both movies. Both of 'em make good use of pop music.

I liked both, but was swayed to High Fidelity because of the "Arsenal connections. "

WTF is High Fidelity doing representing Chicago? I mean, I know the film was "set there" but who cares. I mean, Adventures in Babysitting was just as Chicago, prolly.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Blues Brothers, Eight Men Out, The Fugitive, A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon, and Running Scared all feel more Chicago-ey to me, but I like High Fidelity so I'm going to vote for it anyway.

Yeah, I voted for it too, but it's gonna get creamed when it comes up against a real city movie

Blues Brothers and The Fugitive are lined up for future rounds.

I see what references the city as a keyword at IMDB. I sort through what's highly rated, and eliminate the Saw II-type genre flicks where all the high rating is coming from a narrow section of the populace.

I make sure I double-check with what youse listed in your threads.

So wait... the next Chicago matchup would be represented by another film? Will the next round be a double feature? Will the finals be an entire festival? And why aren't more people submitting film reviews in this forum instead of talking about comic books?

I'm also wondering how a non-MLB city has cracked the top 30 when there are currently 30 franchises.

I wanted a field of 32, so I included former MLB citites. I also gave cities with two MLB entries only one slot.

Hmm...I think there are definite Mets films and Yankees films.

Sure, but distinguishing a film set in Yankee territory from a film set in Mets territory is hard, and Chicago is much harder.

Mets -- Goodfellas, Coming to America, Queens Logic

Yankees -- Summer of Sam, A Bronx's Tale, Marty.
