NY Mets are 1 -8 this season when the other team scores first...........

Apr 26 2008 11:27 AM

First two guys hit it hard into outs.

Wright hits a routine grounder and it gets booted.

This is the first time in my life I've ever liked Church.

Nymr83
Apr 26 2008 12:13 PM

nice run scoring play, Delgado might have intentionally left the base path to get in the way of teixeira's potential throw home

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 12:15 PM

Delgado, don't be running out of the baseline on that play...a ball off your noggin might do you good.

Nymr83
Apr 26 2008 12:16 PM

Molina almost made it 5-2 but Prado made a leaping snag of a line drive at 3rd.

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Apr 26 2008 12:23 PM

Hudson sunk. Gotay to pinch hit. Gary & Ron talking about the magnificent emptyness of No. 6.

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 12:27 PM

The Goat swingin for the fences,ha.

Take a seat Ruben.

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 12:32 PM

Reyes has to stop hittin the ball in the air.
He really really really really does.

Really.

Just pound it into the ground Jose, and run your ass off.
That'll get you outta this funk.

A fly out and two pop ups.
Gah.

Nymr83
Apr 26 2008 12:33 PM

pushups. willie mays-hayes style.

anyway, its nice to have hudson out after only 3 innings, lets light up the atlanta bul;lpen so they'll all be tired for the next game

John Cougar Lunchbucket
Apr 26 2008 12:41 PM

Pretty scary to imagine an injury to Maine. Looks OK but...

Frayed Knot
Apr 26 2008 12:49 PM

This is the big leagues, you gotta tag the runners up here kid (Lillibridge)

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 12:51 PM

Hand cramp?

Wright should get two steals for that swipe of second.

Great slide avoids the tag.

Gettin deeper into the Brave's pen.
Gotta like that.

Delgado gets that ball out of the park on a less windy day.

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 12:58 PM

More headsupness from Mr. Wright.

Delgado drove one that I thought had a chance, but itcomes down short of the track in center.
Kotsay thinks its the 3rd out and Wright takes advantage.
Nice

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 01:01 PM

Easley gets ripped.

Thats was no strike three.

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 01:03 PM

Heilman comes on to rabid boo's.
One guy musta had a megaphone....

Hold em Heilman.

Shea is a very strange park this year with citifield looming out in left field, i have no idea what effect that has on the wind patterns but i have to imagine it makes a mess of things

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 01:16 PM

Heilman allows one after getting ripped off on that 4th pitch to Francoeur, which was a strike, inning over.
IMO anyway ;)

Francoeur follows with a double and is driven in by a Prado singo.

the mets have hit 7 home runs at home, to only 5 on the road...

or a dead one...

Frayed Knot
Apr 26 2008 01:25 PM

Pagan did something there I'm noticing a lot lately ... he slid late.
IOW, he's already skidding to a stop as he crosses the plate rather than exploding across the base so that he's still evading the tag but just not yet slowing up as he's doing it.

Close play - and a different slide might not have changed the result - but it just seems to me I'm seeing that more and more lately when it's not necessary.

Frayed Knot
Apr 26 2008 01:33 PM

Sooner or later we've got to get to someone in this Bravo bullpen.

Frayed Knot
Apr 26 2008 01:40 PM

Or we could just look at three consecutive third strikes.

TransMonk
Apr 26 2008 01:51 PM

Sanchez does the job.

Insurance would be nice.

TransMonk
Apr 26 2008 02:07 PM

I'd like to see more than 20 minutes of offense out of this group, but I'll take the win for sure.

Zvon
Apr 26 2008 02:07 PM

Wow.

Wags ninth was just a joy to watch.
98mph fastball on the black.

And how can you hit the slider after seeing a fastball like that?

Very nice indeed.

Nymr83
Apr 26 2008 02:07 PM

wagner has thrown 9 hitless innings this year, i'm a bit annoyed that he had to pitch today at all. aftet bouncing the opposing starter in the 3rd inning the mets cant just go the remaining 6 without scoring, they to need to pounce on the soft underbelly of an already depleted bullpen.

metsguyinmichigan

Yes! Finally.

Valadius
Apr 26 2008 02:32 PM

That may be the closest we'll ever come to a no-hitter. I'll take it... for now. I'd still like to see it.

I missed the whole game today (golf tournament). I was glad to see them get off the shnide, for a day at least.
