I checked four of the places I usually get lineups from and they're all tardy.

I'll never fully know what an illegal pickoff move is for a lefthander.

    Tallking with myself here.

I say we hop on Belisle early before he remembers ever beating us last year.

Can anyone get this on the baseball package?

No - the package can't show MLB games until after 7:00 pm Eastern time/4:00 Pacific time on Saturdays.

That seems like a rule I should've learned a long time ago.

Thank you. See you all (two) later.

One-zip as Alou trots home on the wild pitch --- after advancing first on a late break by Griffey leading to a hit, and then on a failed double play.

Everybody get their autism awareness in there?

Ralphers in the booth. Hush up.

Ralph went to a steakhouse between games of the only Mets day-night doubleheader Shea ever hosted prior to 2007.

Such a Ralph thing to do.

    He probably took Angie Dickinson.

Castillo walks and comes around on the single by Beltran, like a number-two hitter should do.

The game is on mlb.tv b/not EI.

Lousy call by the sub ump at first--Cohen said he's there because of the DH... umps can't work two games? Does the ump scheduled to work home in the 2d game get the first game off?

Mets are getting all the breakies today.

Six-three with two out and two on in the third.

    Last batter for Santana.

Bam, he finishes with a K.

Now let's get into their pen and soften them up for later.

    Hey, Boobirds!

Castillo whiffed? Too bad. You're up 6-3. Be cool.

And now they're playing pre-taped encouragements to cheer. You brought that shit on yourselves.

I'm Ed Bressoud and I don't care if I talk to myself!

It's 10-3 Mets after a Beltran trip, and we're two relievers into this pen with a nightcap to come.

Let's see if we can't get Sosa to finish thing thingie up alone.

Delgado and Schneider go back-to-back. Schneid's first XBH of the season, which is oomph-worthy.

Boobirds silent when Griffey brings home two.

Only bad when Designated Whipping BoysTM give up runs.

Game 1 was the "Bike to Shea" day organized by NYC DOT. 12 mile ride from Brooklyn. Apparently Mr. Met came by the bike parking lot set up but I missed him.

Smithereens played two songs during the pre-game as part of Autisim Awareness Day (sponsored by VH1). They were attired in an old Seaver Jersey, a dark blue 80s pullover jersey and a green Mets jersey. Apparently are big fans. 2 songs -- one of their own and one Beatles cover.

I know a fifth umpire is used on doubleheaders but I didn't know that the ump working the plate for game #2 gets game #1 off. Guess I do know.

The booing of Heilman is fucking stupid (and yes, I also noticed the Feliciano got off without a peep from the crowd). All 3 relievers though had huge leads to work with and managed to screw around and not just throw strikes.

Glad the offense showed up again today.

    AG/DC - "Keith's favorite Shea Stadium memory: http://ultimatemets.com/gamedetail.php?gameno=2922 "

Wow, a 4 inning save by the Cardinals Roy Thomas. Few relievers ever go more than 3 outs for a save anymore.

I found it a little disappointing that Keith's favorite Shea memory was Cardinal-driven.

    Not devastating, just disappointing.

Keith did deliver the hit that turned the tide in the seventh game of the World Series played at Shea. That's got to be a little more special to him than the batting title.

    C'mon Mex -- no I in team!

I might be misquoting. It might be something like "first favorite memory." Cohen gave something from when he was nine years old.

Gary's memory was great , as an 11? year old his Dad took him to Shea for the game where the Mets clinched their first division title , Gary skipped school which was a big deal , he made his way onto the field for the celebration and took some sod which he kept in a plastic bag for years in the family garage.

Great gimmick coming up Thursday when Gary, Keith and Ron ascend to Gary's old haunt in the Upper Deck to broadcast. Welcome to our world, jocks!
