Okay, I'm a total dork, but I need some advice.

...I have a $25 mlb.com gift card that I'd like to blow on a custom Mets T-shirt. The question is, of my three all-time favorite Mets, which direction do I go?

HERNANDEZ
17

MCREYNOLDS

HARNISCH

Hernandez is too obvious, I think; besides, the possibility exists that they actually make a Mex shirt someday. (Modell's already has Lenny, Straw, Carter, and Seaver available.) I'm leaning towards McReynolds, but it bothers me that I can't make the proper small "c". Harnisch grew up in my home town, so he's always been a favorite of mine.

Thoughts?

Go with THRONEBERRY 2 .

It would be more of a conversation piece. And Marv deserves some respect.

Flatter yourself in obscurity. Go Harnisch.

I met a man last year at RFK in an authentic Doug Mienkiewicz road jersey. I wanted to follow him home.

I've got no special love for Doug, but I do have a special love for guys with special love.

I swear I saw this last year on a t-shirt in the mezzanine last year.

Your t-shirt can hang out with my Shinjo and Vaughn jerseys some time.

Can I wear my Adrian Murrell #29 Jets jersey to the same party?

I wonder if my wife still has her Shinjo 5 shirt? Must be in a box somewhere. I'll have to find it before May 31.

Go for Gaspar 17. People can ask who the heck you are.

PLEASE...provide a link to where I can purchase a FLYNN 23 shirt!

I may just order two and send one Edgy's way as an early wedding present.

Harnisch, absolutely! Hell, ANYBODY can have a Hernandez shirt.

I have a Mel Rojas road batting practice jersey.

Coincidently, so did Mel.

Pete Harnisch it will be.

For what it's worth, custom t-shirts are $25 at the mlb.com shop.

Okay I went to mlb.com and saw what you are talking about.

I thought that the name and number would at least be in blue and or orange. You had me all excited wolfie.

I've been trying to find somewhere where I could get a '79 home polyester jersey with Flynn's name and number on the back but no luck so far.

Your t-shirt thing was the closest I've gotten as yet and, alas, it was not close enough.

Enjoy your 'Crazy Pete' Harnisch shirt.

But not any more, because I have HIS road batting practice jersey!

I don't know if they still do this, but the Mets used to sell such things at semi-reasonable prices. My criteria for buying such things are A) if it is affordable, and B) if it fits me.

So I'm usually limited to pudgy players that fans hate. And coaches. (My Duffy Dyer Brewers jersey is one of my favorites!)
