Val is a 29-year-old minor league slugger who signed a deal with the Mets last week and was assigned to the Zephs last week around the same time Brady Anderson went down. Brady Anderson retired years ago , Brady Clarke only recently. Should Delgado be worried? Oh sorry , Clarke didn't retire , right?

It seems the Phils recently gave up on him for no good reason. (He clearly wasn't getting anything to hit.) The Mets outbid the Cubs on him. The Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday released 29-year-old OF Val Pascucci from their Triple-A affiliate, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the International League. In 25 games with Lehigh Valley, the right-handed batting Pascucci hit .232 with one home run, two doubles and seven RBIs. Pascucci led the club with 18 walks and was second on the team with a .370 on-base percentage. A 15th-round selection by Montreal in the 1999 draft, Pascucci entered 2008 a career .278 hitter with 146 HR and 548 RBI in seven minor league seasons. He led the Pacific Coast League with 34 home runs with Triple-A Albuquerque in 2007.
