Val Pascucci

Val is a 29-year-old minor league slugger who signed a deal with the Mets last week and was assigned to the Zephs last week around the same time Brady Anderson went down. He's an outfielder/firstbaseman that could indicate a drain on Mickey Abreu's playing time.

It seems the Phils recently gave up on him for no good reason. (He clearly wasn't getting anything to hit.) The Mets outbid the Cubs on him. The Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday released 29-year-old OF Val Pascucci from their Triple-A affiliate, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the International League.
