Would've been a good day to start Jacobs.
Edgy DC Aug 21 2005 01:14 PM |
Church opens with a double.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 01:15 PM |
Church scores on Johnson's sac fly. 1-0 Washington.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 01:21 PM |
Despite tripping while rounding first, Preston Wilson doubles in the second run of the game. 2-0 Washington. Blech :(
Zvon Aug 21 2005 01:24 PM |
not a good start.
duan Aug 21 2005 01:24 PM |
what's the delay for?
Zvon Aug 21 2005 01:25 PM |
Benson is one of my fantasy BBleague pitchers, so this hurts in more ways than the obvious one.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 01:25 PM |
they sent out for some dry dirt.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 01:29 PM |
As Zvon says, there were wet spots on the field (that's what caused Preston Wilson to trip around first base), so they were putting turf dry or kitty litter or something on the basepath.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 01:30 PM |
And Loiza has an rbi single of his own.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 01:31 PM |
........................so what do you do around here during a 'cryer'.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 01:35 PM |
this is ugly.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 01:37 PM |
Padilla induces the third out of the inning.
KC Aug 21 2005 01:39 PM |
Benson faces ten, coughs up six runs on eight hits, and never gets out of
Zvon Aug 21 2005 01:41 PM |
ERA for his days work: 81.00
GYC Aug 21 2005 01:47 PM |
Get well soon, Mike Cameron.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 01:48 PM |
Padilla gets out of the second without allowing a run.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 02:24 PM |
I believe in the power of fan positive thinking.

AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!
OlerudOwned Aug 21 2005 03:08 PM |
Now pitching, Danny Graves
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 03:22 PM |
i was there last night and refused to go back today both because i hate day games (waking up early and sitting in the heat are not fun) and because today was jewish heritage day, which has historically been bad luck for me. i still remember matt franco coming on to pitch once so i can't go back to these things.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 03:26 PM |
lol. Graves did his part. The pens always its weakest when we have a lead. Now we got the bases juiced, and Floyd up. Ill take an RBI single. Anything here.
OlerudOwned Aug 21 2005 03:27 PM |
Bases loaded, 2 outs, and Frankeneischen in to face Clifford Floyd.
OlerudOwned Aug 21 2005 03:29 PM |
3 pitches, seeya Cliff.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 03:29 PM |
OUCH!
Frayed Knot Aug 21 2005 03:29 PM |
Cliff didn't come within 2 feet of any of those pitches.
KC Aug 21 2005 03:30 PM |
Bases loaded for Floyd and Eischen comes in.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 03:36 PM |
Zvon Aug 21 2005 03:56 PM |
who pinch hits to start off the 9th?
Zvon Aug 21 2005 04:00 PM |
wasnt factoring in Cordero.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 04:01 PM |
YEA!
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 04:07 PM |
Johnson pulls a Buckner, Wright will bat as the tying run.
Zvon Aug 21 2005 04:16 PM |
But Wright Ks.
Frayed Knot Aug 21 2005 04:17 PM |
When trying to catch up to such a disasterous start you can't leave as many chances out there in the middle innings as we did. Even a mesely little 2-out single in any one of about 3 different spots (Diaz, Floyd, Castro) makes that a whole different game and would have made those 9th inning follies mean something other than just a tease.
Valadius Aug 21 2005 04:33 PM |
Just got back from the Benson suck-fest.
Johnny Dickshot Aug 21 2005 04:42 PM |
It went basically unnoticed but Cairo had a terrible game and an awful series.
Valadius Aug 21 2005 05:11 PM |
Things I noticed while at the game today:
TheOldMole Aug 21 2005 07:56 PM |
WWSB, which I do not and will not use, stands for Wee Willie Small Balls.
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 08:11 PM |
why "sans Diaz"? i'd be much more inclined to jettison Matsucki and his fellow 2Bmen.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 08:15 PM |
You're shitting me, right?
Valadius Aug 21 2005 08:16 PM |
He looked COMPLETELY helpless in right field. His poor defense allowed the Nats at least two more runs than they should have had. It was painful to watch him out there.

I wish I was kidding. And they did this with seemingly thousands of Orthodox in the stands. I was ready to scream at Horowitz but I couldn't find him on the field before the game. Whoever did that should have been fired mid-game.
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 08:23 PM |
It's funny and shameful at the same time. Simpson-esque.
Bret Sabermetric Aug 21 2005 08:33 PM |
Relax. This is the Mets. No one's getting fired. Ever.
