From the forum for Out of the Park Baseball. Somebody uses a simulator to take Darryl back and replay his career, minus the coke.

I don't know how it ended up. Of course, once the clock is reset, the butterfly effect kicks in, and nothing works out the same. Some real-world superstars never make it out of the minors. Mike Piazza, on the other hand, gets a high-profile early draft position.

He got dealt to Toronto! Funny.

OOTP rules. I set up the 2005 Mets, added myself as a first baseman (I couldn't watch Mientkiewicz suck up the joint), and took them all the way. I set up a salary cap, but I had a hard time signing anyone during the offseason, because spending went out of control, and I couldn't get any of my big three targets in the offseason:

Barry Zito, coming off a 14-13 season, signed a seven-year deal with LA at almost $31 million a year.
Jason Marquis, 16-9 in '05, signed a 4-year deal with Texas at $23 million per year.
Toby Hall, after displacing Mike Piazza halfway through the season (sorry Mike), signed a 3-year deal at $13.5 million per year with the White Sox.

We're 16-10 so far in '06, thanks to a pitching staff anchored by... Kaz Ishii. 3-0 in '06, he went 16-3 in '05 with a 2.02 ERA.
