What, may I ask, are you doing cruising outsports.com?

ScarletKnight41 Aug 20 2005 02:53 PM |
He's a gay icon - what is he supposed to be doing?
|
Edgy DC Aug 20 2005 02:54 PM |
The Mets are ambiuously implicated. I'm all over that.
|
Johnny Dickshot Aug 20 2005 03:33 PM |
I'd bet if it were up to the same guy who greenlighted Gay Night they'd just ask the retards with the banner to take it down.

Sandgnat Aug 20 2005 04:58 PM |

He's right. They should start a gayng.

Wow, homosexuality is a religion? Reminds me of Stripes, "No, but we are willing to learn."

"Can you imagine if someone showed up at Jewish night with a sign that read, “Judaism Is Sin / Christ Can Set You Free”? The security guards would set a new land speed record getting to whomever held that sign, forcing them to take it down."
|
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 01:34 PM |
freedom of speech definetaly protects that sign in a public place (just as it protects other offensive material such as confederate or nazi flags, ku klux klan banners, etc) .

>>>But in Yankee Stadium, it seems that the ushers and cops would let the blond, fair and red headed kids with freckles into the boxes. But if you had dark hair, dark skin, or wore a Yarmulke, they never let you move down.<<<

I'm Jewish and I've had the misfortune to have had to deal with anti-semitism so I'm sensitive to that particular issue. Never have I ever had the sense that the Yankees (or any other team for that matter) discriminate against Jewish fans.

KC Aug 21 2005 03:37 PM |
I have no way of knowing how old you are, silver ... but 62 is probably posting

yes, you did type something stupid....
there is no reason he should have to remove his yamuka to trick some anti-semite asshole. i've personally never experienced anti-semitism out of someone in a position of authority, but i'm 22 and have lived my whole life in nyc. those who are older or have been to other areas have i am sure had to deal with much bigger idiots. edited for quote button not working right

yeah, baseball has been pretty good about that in my lifetime...the only "discrimination" you see at Shea is age based.... if you are under 25 the ushers ask if these are your real seats, if you are older they dont even look at you.

KC Aug 21 2005 06:16 PM |
swing and a miss
|
MFS62 Aug 21 2005 06:18 PM |
I was responding to the author's contention that if an anti-Semitic banner was posted, the guards would break speed records to have it removed.
|
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 06:19 PM |
|
go cry about it. maybe you can make your icon a picture of christ carrying the cross like sal did and see if it wins you any simpathy.
yes freedom of speech protects your right to your comments, my right to hammer them, the philly fans' right to boo santa, and even the racist's opinion. it's a wonderful thing.

|
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 06:21 PM |

|
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 06:22 PM |
Getting ready to start the inning while the kid was warming up in the pen.
|
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 06:23 PM |

|
ScarletKnight41 Aug 21 2005 06:24 PM |

KC Aug 21 2005 06:34 PM |
I love that picture, and commented on his form the first time I saw it too.

Bret Sabermetric Aug 21 2005 06:48 PM |
Say, where'd that picture <<<<<==== come from, anyway? I forget.
|
Nymr83 Aug 21 2005 06:53 PM |
i assumed it was your way of claiming to "bear the burden" of educating met fans who agree with the bullshit way in which the organization has been run lately, was that not it?

i am always referring to the OP or the post above mine unless i quote a sentence or otherwise indicate to whom i am speaking... don't take this as sarcasm or criticism it was for everyone's future knowledge.

Rockin' Doc Aug 21 2005 08:39 PM |
I believe KC is alluding to the fact that he posted the picture from "The Passion of the Christ" in response to one of Bret's posts. Bret then adopted it as his avatar and has remained with it ever since.
