Wagner said on his radio spot yesterday that he will talk to the guys today ,that would be the guys he ripped after the game , I really don't have a problem with what he did , last season LoDuca felt the need to criticize the same players , no names were mentioned either time but apparently the players are Beltran and Delgado.

My question is then , shouldn't the manager sort this stuff out , it happened last season and Wagner had an outburst already this season, Willie talked to him IIRC.

From Rubin's blog , not a big deal but it annoys me when I read stuff like this.

DAY AND A HALF OFF: Despite his fifth-inning ejection Wednesday night, Moises Alou sat out the matinee anyway. It was ambiguous how Alou ended up left off the lineup card.

Randolph suggested he got a vibe from Alou that he needed the day off. Alou suggested Randolph told him to take the day so he could play the entire weekend in the Bronx, when a DH - and extra bat - is needed. "Unfortunately it looks bad now because we lost 1-0," Alou said.

That shouldn't happen.

Funny. I'm starting to get a vibe also.

When you're going horsespit, every vibe is bad. I can understand the impulse to rest 41-year-old Moises, but at .343, we need all the hitting we've got. He had half a night off Thursday, the weather isn't punishing, there's a long stretch between Saturday afternoon and Sunday night, he's got the DH and there's no game Monday.

I heard the beat guy for the local ESPN radio station (forget his name) talking about this. He point was that while he could see Wagner's point he thought his ire to be misplaced in this case.

No names were mentioned in Wagner's mini-rant, but he gestured over to ther Reyes / Beltran / Delgado corner of the locker room when he made the "oh, they're gone - what a shock" comment. Problem is, both Reyes & Beltran HAD talked to the press already - and at a time including while Wagner was there. Delgado was elsewhere but he also wasn't a major part of the game the way Reyes - on account of his 1st-to-3rd dash, and Beltran - with his 'go on contact' play, were.

If Wagner wants to have it out with Delgado over ducking the scribes after the game (as has been hinted at before) it's fine with me. It's not that I'm hanging on the quotes these guys make in the post-game, but the matter of not sharing the load can cause some problems among the crew.

In any case, I'm sure someone will run with this "controversy" until the point where it's blown up to explain everything from Reyes's lack of hitting, to Heilman's sour puss, to the price of gas.
