Letting Wright hit his way up the lineup. It may have cost a win or two in 2005, though that's hard to place. It seems to have helped smooth the development for Wright, though there's no way to know for sure.

I really liked Willie's thoughts on the doubleheader against the Reds last week where he said he deliberately put the A lineup behind Santana in the first game because winning the first game of the DH puts more pressure on the other team and also puts the possibility of the DH sweep on the table.

Remarkably patient. His reluctance to hit the panic button has served the team well at times (and may also have cost it, but you take the good with the bad).
