Two in a row for Castro
G-Fafif May 28 2008 05:10 PM |
Almost a month, notes Wayne Hagin, since the Mets have won back-to-back games at Big Shea.
G-Fafif May 28 2008 05:12 PM |
Not a huge sample on back-to-back wins, btw, only ten home games:
metirish May 28 2008 05:20 PM |
WOW
AG/DC May 28 2008 05:31 PM |
I never heard Rusty sound like such a New Yorker.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:09 PM |
Easley not bunting, and that's cool.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:09 PM |
Drives a single to center. Even cooler.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:12 PM |
Ron Darling with a Ron Hodges reference in the booth.

themetfairy May 28 2008 06:13 PM |
Shut up, Eric Carmen. I'm back from MiniKnight's Little League game. I'll catch up on the game in a few minutes.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:32 PM |
Beltran saves Willie's skin in centerfield. Damn, it's like the world is a-sitting on an elephant's nose.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:34 PM |
Jose!

KC May 28 2008 06:35 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on May 28 2008 06:38 PM |
Beltran's route to some balls that result in plays like that are almost taken
KC May 28 2008 06:36 PM |
Who is Eric Carmen?
Nymr83 May 28 2008 06:38 PM |
did metfairy mean Eric Cartman, the whiny fat kid from South Park?
themetfairy May 28 2008 06:41 PM |
Come on, man! You're just about my age, and we're older than Edgy. You should have gotten the reference -
KC May 28 2008 06:50 PM |
I got it, mocking you both.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:50 PM |
They're really getting around on Ollie here.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 06:51 PM |
Oh for fuck's sakes.
KC May 28 2008 06:51 PM |
Eric Carmen ... game/thread killer.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:51 PM |
I was saying.
AG/DC May 28 2008 06:57 PM |
That double is classic Easley.
Nymr83 May 28 2008 07:01 PM |
leaving him on 2nd with nobody out is classic Mets.
Elster88 May 28 2008 07:04 PM |

Tatis-Castro-Evans.
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:18 PM |
Cody Bleeping Ross? You gotta be kidding me.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 07:23 PM |
OK, let;s get Heilman a win.
AG/DC May 28 2008 07:26 PM |
That inning was classick Heilman.
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:28 PM |
DWRIGHT and the middle of the order can get that run across!!!!
AG/DC May 28 2008 07:28 PM |
They didn't bunt. That's the risk you take with this non-bunting strategy we advocate here at the Crane Pool.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 07:30 PM |
Would Willie dare PH Delgado vs. Lindstrom?
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 07:37 PM |
grrrrrrrr
AG/DC May 28 2008 07:37 PM |
I'd've.
metirish May 28 2008 07:38 PM |
This is utter bollox , I step out to the diner for a few minutes with the Mets winning and come back with the Mets losing.
AG/DC May 28 2008 07:42 PM |
Diner!? What the Hell were you thinking?!
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:43 PM |
Heilman looking back on track.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 07:43 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on May 28 2008 07:43 PM |
Heilman finally taking my advice and adopting a mean countenence, vs. a mopey one. I swear he should dye his hair jet black and they'd never touch him.
metirish May 28 2008 07:43 PM |
Have the Mets come back in the ninth this season at home?
AG/DC May 28 2008 07:44 PM |
Let's make New Badass Aaron Heilman 1-0.
KC May 28 2008 07:44 PM |
Uh ...
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 07:45 PM |
GO
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:45 PM |
METS!!!!!!
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:46 PM |
If Delgado gets to pinch hit and makes good, he can join Heilman in redemption!
AG/DC May 28 2008 07:47 PM |
No fucking around here.
Nymr83 May 28 2008 07:47 PM |
ENDY CHAVEZ!!!

metirish May 28 2008 07:48 PM |
I love you again Endy.

themetfairy May 28 2008 07:48 PM |
That's why we HAVE an Endy Chavez! Hell Yeah!
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 07:49 PM |
geez on 0-2 as well.
Elster88 May 28 2008 07:50 PM |
Mets haven't done one of these in a while. Let's finish it. Combined with yesterday I'm thinking good things.
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:51 PM |
Like I was saying, Chavez can earn some redemption here.....
AG/DC May 28 2008 07:51 PM |
Send a closer up against us wearing wraparound shades at night? THAT'S WHAT YOU GET!
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:52 PM |
C'mon Jose. Hot batter at the right time!
metsguyinmichigan May 28 2008 07:54 PM |
Castillo can set up D-Wright to be the hero.
Elster88 May 28 2008 07:55 PM |
If this was 2006, Wright would drive Maine in. If it was September of 2007, Maine would pull a hamstring rounding third. 2008?
KC May 28 2008 07:56 PM |
Extras.
Valadius May 28 2008 07:58 PM |
And we go to extra frames.
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:07 PM |
Beltran has a lot of heart. Anyone who disagrees is a moron.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:09 PM |
Elster lets you know where you stand.
Frayed Knot May 28 2008 08:09 PM |
Logan Kensing sounds like he should be hanging with Brock Pemberton at the Omega frat trying to dig up dirt on the Deltas.

Johan Santana, potential walk-off hero.
KC May 28 2008 08:20 PM |
Relief corps getting it done, nice job by Heilman/Wags/Sanchez.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:20 PM |
Duaner hit 91.
Gwreck May 28 2008 08:20 PM |
P.S. -- Things I disagreed with: letting Evans hit.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:23 PM |
Hanley showing that Derek Jeter range.
Frayed Knot May 28 2008 08:23 PM |
The thing about hitting for Castro is that if he would have gotten on you'd almost have to run for him anyway.
Gwreck May 28 2008 08:24 PM |
Sanchez has 2 Mets plate appearances to date: a K and a HBP.
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:25 PM |
Sanchez doesn't watch his bunts. Only Reyes.
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:26 PM |
Big at-bat for Castillo.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:26 PM |
Luis Castillo, today you become a man.
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:26 PM |
Don't forget we have a very depleted bench.
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:27 PM |
I was gonna say that.
Frayed Knot May 28 2008 08:27 PM |
Tell them guys to be quiet. I don't want the Fish to know JJ is too deep!!!!
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:30 PM |
And on to the 12th they go. I thought he had gotten enough of that one.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:31 PM |
Besides Willie, I also want to say the Shea fans have done a decent job tonight.
Gwreck May 28 2008 08:31 PM |
Yes, but as I said in my post, he had to bring Schneider into the game anyway, because he hit Chavez for Castro.
Gwreck May 28 2008 08:32 PM |
SNY is showing clips of the '69 Mets singing "You Gotta Have Heart" on the Ed Sullivan show.

Amezaga homers to give the Marlins a 6-5 lead.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:38 PM |
There's been a lot of "first homer of the year" type moments of late.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 08:39 PM |
We're bringing up the guys to tie it up
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:39 PM |
One last chance for the Metsies to avoid another loss. Big hitters due to hit for the Mets - Wright, Beltran and Easley.
KC May 28 2008 08:39 PM |
They'll get it back.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:40 PM |
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 08:40 PM |
4-pitch walk to Wright.
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:40 PM |
Nice leadoff BB for Wright. C'mon Carlos!
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:41 PM |
Justin Miller, American hero.
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:41 PM |
Five straight pitches out of the zone. Be patient boys.
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:42 PM |

Fman99 May 28 2008 08:44 PM |

Frayed Knot May 28 2008 08:44 PM |
Face it Miller, you're a dead man.
Gwreck May 28 2008 08:44 PM |
YES.
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:44 PM |
That's a lineout if Wright's not running.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 08:45 PM |
I trust Easley to hit a fly ball.
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:45 PM |
It was not a hit and run.
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:45 PM |
I was certain that Beltran's liner was going to be right into the glove of Ramirez covering.
Frayed Knot May 28 2008 08:46 PM |
And Beltran's been real good at line-outs recently.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 08:48 PM |
ooops
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:48 PM |
Gary's right I'll almost take a double play here over a K. Dammit Easley. Cut Delgado NOW!!!
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:49 PM |
Easley whiffs.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 08:50 PM |

Nymr83 May 28 2008 08:50 PM |
Tatis wins the game!
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:50 PM |
I lov baseball.

themetfairy May 28 2008 08:50 PM |
Yea Tatis! We Win! We Win!
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 08:50 PM |
I dub thee the Fernando Tatis Game
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:51 PM |
Tatis with the line shot into the corner, Wright scores, Beltran comes around and scores from first.
KC May 28 2008 08:52 PM |
Nice win, tomorrow the media will be all over the Mets for celebrating
metirish May 28 2008 08:52 PM |
LOVELY.
Frayed Knot May 28 2008 08:52 PM |
So how are those tattoos help your pitching Miller?
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:53 PM |
Fernando Tatís, Jr. (born January 1, 1975 in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic) is an infielder in Major League Baseball for the New York Mets. He previously played for the Texas Rangers (1997-1998), St. Louis Cardinals (1998-2000), Montreal Expos (2001-2003) and Baltimore Orioles (2006). He bats and throws right-handed.
John Cougar Lunchbucket May 28 2008 08:53 PM |
Come on, the joke here was: Tatis 1 Tattoos 0
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:53 PM |
Nah. I think they'll be glad the Mets are getting fired up and showing heart and guts and cliches.
TheOldMole May 28 2008 08:53 PM |
Media? They cover the Mets?
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:54 PM |
Tat: "I'm living a dream right now."
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:55 PM |
Elster: Me too! Say hi to the gay dog-walkers.
Gwreck May 28 2008 08:55 PM |
Thank you Fernando.
Elster88 May 28 2008 08:57 PM |
Straw with the plaid suit. Is it me or is he doing a good job as a studio guy? This is the first time I've seen him.
DocTee May 28 2008 08:57 PM |
Show us your TATIS!
AG/DC May 28 2008 08:58 PM |
Can you hear the drums, Fernando?
Fman99 May 28 2008 08:58 PM |

Herve Villechaize didn't even get on the list. Poor little dead bastard.
SteveJRogers May 28 2008 08:58 PM |

Add "for a sub .500, fourth place team" to that. Though I think a lot of the attention will be on some guy returning to New York.

Dear Omar,

Fman99 May 28 2008 09:00 PM |

Same here. I think he's better than Maz, that's for sure.
Elster88 May 28 2008 09:00 PM |
Nah. I think they'll be glad the Mets are getting fired up and showing heart and guts.
Elster88 May 28 2008 09:01 PM |
Good call. One big AB could've made a huge difference in many games. Though to me it was more about the bullpen sucktitude.

Yeah, I blew that one. I think Miller's one of those guys they make wear long sleeves the whole year because of how many designs he's got on his arms.

AG/DC May 28 2008 09:37 PM |
We called up the patriotic saintal, who recently posted: The Mr's Maestri & Schline have missed the boat on Memorial day. There could have been a fly over, yes there could have, and veterans and men in uniform could have been allowed in FREE. Why not?? It isn't like we didn't have room. The attendence was listed as 2048 and even if that was true there were almost 8000 seats plus the levy unoccupied. Also missing was the Navy or Marine Corps band. In other words the Zephyrs brass did not give the fans a reason to be there. No Mr. Maestri, the game itself is not a reason. Not anymore. Maybe we can do something for the 3rd of July since we will not be home on the 4th. I know we have fireworks scheduled but is that enough?? Cmon brass, we diehards will be there but give the others a reason. Maybe even a lottery with the winner getting a season ticket for the rest of the season. Even if it's just a fireworks package. Something, anything. Please!!!!
DocTee May 28 2008 09:39 PM |
We shall all now rise for the press conference announcing his promotion.
