Well, here I am in the IGT, and

I WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TODAY!

Long story, don't worry, not going to tell it...

The following clip contains profanity and crass content:

Benjamin Grimm
May 29 2008 05:15 PM

Is Joe Torre out of uniform?

He seems to be wearing a golf shirt instead of a regulation Dodgers jersey.

SteveJRogers
May 29 2008 05:16 PM

Going for the Francona or the Gibbons look?

SteveJRogers
May 29 2008 05:17 PM

Chavez nails Pierre at the plate for the final out of the inning, preserving the 0-0 score.

apmorris
May 29 2008 05:18 PM

Somebody wake up Torre, I think he was safe.

KC
May 29 2008 05:24 PM

He never even came close to touching the plate. Perfect throw, perfect
catch, perfect blocking of the dish.

Benjamin Grimm
May 29 2008 05:42 PM

Good call by the ump. It looked like he SHOULD have been safe, but he was clearly out. (The runner beat the ball, but Schneider blocked nicely.)

mets radio crew break out the dick cheney hunting jokes!

I'm watching from LA - Charley Steiner and Steve Lyons are only talking about the Mets.

"It's not that man's (willie) fault", Lyons

Missed the bus to the Yankee fan game-watching party?

Wright is my homey.

Good game so far. Mets up 2-0.

Too bad I'm the only one commenting on it because I'm a bit rusty on IGT's.

Had to run over to Amazon.com to do some shopping, sorry to leave you hanging WP.

Vargas is the shit.

When I was reading Dodger Blues today a poster noted how " Wright kills Penny"....hell yeah.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 06:33 PM

Brad Penny needs a change of environment. May I suggest Philadephia?

Finally a chance to use this again:

Problem with the Bugs Bunny clip is that those guys have road jerseys.

Ha, it's Kid Pro Kuo!

SteveJRogers
May 29 2008 06:53 PM

Love taking it to LA.

Probably going to be in Los Angeles when the Cubs are next weekend, but sadly won't get to any games. Mets-Pads Friday night is enough right now.

John Cougar Lunchbucket
May 29 2008 06:54 PM

I don't see why the Dodgers don't just start Kuo against us every time.

And we continue to be Blake DeWitt's bitch.

Anyway I hadthe sound down trying to put down Jr. and missed the whole interference thing. SNY seemed to have went to a commercial, then cut back in just as Reyes was singling.

Willets Point
May 29 2008 06:55 PM

The Dodgers scored a lot while I was fighting with a washing machine with an unbalanced load. Good thing the Mets have a good padding already.

Willets Point
May 29 2008 07:07 PM

Delgado should be released! A sack of baseballs would have been able to get a double play there. Carlos sucks!

I was awfully confused by that. When they cut to the commercial, I thought that Vargas had grounded out. When they come back, he's advancing to second and Reyes is getting to first.

No "while you were away" explanation from the announcers. I suspect they may have been broadcasting the whole time, not knowing they were off the air.

I rewound back to Vargas' ground out to see if I had missed anything. It was eerie; like I had skipped to another dimension somehow while those commercials were playing.

I'm starting to think that our season has come; when the Mets score four runs AFTER the third out, it's the old time magic again.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 07:16 PM

Good movement on that slider for Muniz.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 07:17 PM

Heh, heh.

Willets Point
May 29 2008 07:17 PM

Yeah Muniz. Nice to get out #3 with lead intact.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 07:19 PM

The slider wasn't particularly hard, but it stards with horizontal movement and then has a drop.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 07:20 PM

Dabiwye will solve Kuo.

Do it again, Dabi.

Willets Point
May 29 2008 07:23 PM

Jose gets a hit, breaking the spell of Kuo.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 07:25 PM

Man, Castillo is DPing at a Bonoriffic rate.

Willets Point
May 29 2008 07:27 PM

Heh-heh....he said Bonoriffic.

I caught that on my way home from the golf course, listening on XM. Real "HIYO!" stuff.

Fman99
May 29 2008 07:39 PM

Torre got a nice hand from the Shea crowd on his way back from the mound on that pitching change.

Fman99
May 29 2008 07:43 PM

Great infield hit by Chavez to get the two out RBI. He literally thew the bat at the ball to put it in play.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 07:44 PM

That's the Endy we need.

AG/DC
May 29 2008 07:46 PM

They're warming up Heilman. Isn't Smith the fresh choice?

Fman99
May 29 2008 07:47 PM

Schneider delivers another 2 out RBI and the Metsies are starting to open this one up a bit. I approve of this behavior.

SteveJRogers
May 29 2008 07:47 PM

More runs the merrier.

Fman99

Schoewey staying in and getting the AB here.

It's very weird. I couldn't get the game and the ESPN play-by-play indicates Vargas was out and that there were four outs in the inning. Somehow, Vargas ended up on first despite being called out. Strange.

Valadius
May 29 2008 08:29 PM

Catcher's interference. Not sure what happened.

Frayed Knot
May 29 2008 08:38 PM

'Catcher's Interfernce' generally refers to the catcher's glove impeding the batter's swing.

I missed it too so I'm not sure and none of the in-game sites seemed to be working tonight.

* On edit: ESPN just showed it and it was glove/bat interfernce

It turns out (according to this morning's Daily News) that SNY realized what had happened and quickly resumed coverage. The Time Warner cable feed, however, missed it and aired the commercial break as planned.

I must have been getting that Time Warner feed on my Extra
