Pedro vs Aaron Ledezma (0-2, 4.43)
Benjamin Grimm Jun 08 2008 11:25 AM |
My prediction: Padres 2, Mets 1.
seawolf17 Jun 08 2008 12:16 PM |
Wrong Ledez(s)ma.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:08 PM |
Castro overslept?
AG/DC Jun 08 2008 02:08 PM |
Looks like desert camouflage this year.
Frayed Knot Jun 08 2008 02:13 PM |
Not sure we'd hit either at this point.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 08 2008 02:13 PM |
We got nine girls in our lineup.

Mets are all wearing high socks today.

AG/DC Jun 08 2008 02:20 PM |
My word!
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:20 PM |
Leave it to Easley.
AG/DC Jun 08 2008 02:22 PM |
I'm going to go ahead and guess that you don't have pre-made graphics for when Delgado triples.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:23 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Jun 08 2008 02:24 PM |
Now thats the way to start a ballgame.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:23 PM |
You are correct sir!
AG/DC Jun 08 2008 02:27 PM |
Why is Maddux always wearing a catcher's mitt in the dugout?
Frayed Knot Jun 08 2008 02:29 PM |
Endy woke up this morning and got himself a gun
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:29 PM |
WHAT A THROW BY ENDY!
AG/DC Jun 08 2008 02:30 PM |
Secret weapon, huh?
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:32 PM |
Damn, they are hitting Pedro with ease.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:33 PM |
Ugh, he hits Kooz.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:34 PM |
NO!
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 08 2008 02:36 PM |
I hat the mets
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:39 PM |
They say thats Martinez's 2nd balk in the last ten years.
KC Jun 08 2008 02:46 PM |
I think Keith was out with Castro last night, he's said like a half dozen things
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 02:48 PM |
Mets again threatening in the second. Need to cash in some more runs.
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 02:50 PM |
The Mets double steal pays off as Castillo hits a sac fly to plate Endy. Reyes 90 feet from home.
metsguyinmichigan Jun 08 2008 02:51 PM |
Is there a reason Castro's not playing? Has he started a game this dreadful series even?
Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:52 PM |
That double steal was sweet.

Zvon Jun 08 2008 02:54 PM |

Oops! I missed that. I overslept and ....
Zvon Jun 08 2008 03:02 PM |
Ha!
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 03:02 PM |
I'm still a little confused on how Castro could oversleep and be so late to the park. Does Castro stay in a seperate hotel from the remainder of the team or something?
Zvon Jun 08 2008 03:06 PM |
Easley does it.
Frayed Knot Jun 08 2008 03:09 PM |
Many of these newer downtown ballparks the hotels are within walking distance and it's pretty much up to the players to get themselves there. Even when there is a team bus - like from Manhattan hotels out to Shea - it's not required that one be on it as long as you get to the park on time via some other method. Lots of players will cab or even subway themselves out there. I can imagine football coaches blowing a gasket at just the thought of players not taking a team-arranged transport.
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 03:16 PM |
Thanks Knot. I guess I just thought that when on the road, the team would travel over to the ballpark together. Petco Park is within easy walking distance from numerous hotels in San Diego.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 03:23 PM |
I think Pedro's gettin his groove back.
KC Jun 08 2008 03:26 PM |
Reyes doubles to start off the fourth.
Frayed Knot Jun 08 2008 03:26 PM |
Also gone are the days of roommates in hotels on the road so you can't even rely on your buddy to wake you up if you over-drink ... I mean sleep.
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 03:31 PM |
Luis Castillo, RBI machine.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 03:31 PM |
Wright is swingin at shit and lettin some fat ones go by.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 03:45 PM |
Whew.
metsguyinmichigan Jun 08 2008 03:52 PM |
Delgado's almost sorta heating up.
KC Jun 08 2008 03:56 PM |
Gotta wonder about Pedro's approach at the plate that last AB, I even wonder
Zvon Jun 08 2008 03:57 PM |
Couldnt getErDun.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:05 PM |
Whew.
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 04:15 PM |
My initial thought was Eddie Gaedel, but after looking him up I see that he wasn't born on January 8th (1/8).
Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:19 PM |
Hint: The players name was included on the back of the uniform to make it his actual birth date.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:21 PM |
WHAT A CATCH BY EASLEY!
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 04:25 PM |
Zvon - "WHAT A CATCH BY EASLEY! ALA 54'WILLIE MAYS!"
AG/DC Jun 08 2008 04:25 PM |
Missed it. Rilly?
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 08 2008 04:27 PM |
Eh. It was like an infielder going for a popfly over his head good. Pretty good... not orgasmically so.
AG/DC Jun 08 2008 04:30 PM |
The Show is up?
Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:31 PM |
It was a gapper that he caught up to and snagged as it went over his head, arms outstretched, hugging the wall. So he wasn't going straight back like Mays. But the fact that it was in the gap and he had to get there, and the wall was so close...I dunno. Might top Willies classic catch. nah. No one on.
KC Jun 08 2008 04:31 PM |
Or even CAPS and exclamation points so ... but nice.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 08 2008 04:31 PM |
Wow. Looking forward to the Channel 11 60th anniversary bash. Perhaps they bring back TVPix

Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:37 PM |
Delgado with a booming opposite field double.

Zvon - "Might top Willies classic catch."

Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:41 PM |
LMAO. k, u got me. But this was made by a current Met!
metsguyinmichigan Jun 08 2008 04:42 PM |
Who is that guy and what have they done with Carlos Delgado?
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 04:44 PM |
Am I reading this right? Did Endy "drive" Delgado in with a two out drag bunt single?
KC Jun 08 2008 04:48 PM |
It pains me to say so, but yes.
HahnSolo Jun 08 2008 04:48 PM |
Yup.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:51 PM |
Yes he is. A few seasons ago I would have said thats the easy part. Shows us a nice 7th. 6-4 Mets with a tini amount of breathiing room.
SteveJRogers Jun 08 2008 04:54 PM |
Oh sure, score 5 runs the day I'm back in New York.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:55 PM |
We need some icing Mr. Wright.
KC Jun 08 2008 04:56 PM |
6, so far.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 04:57 PM |
Mr Wright says "No icing for you!"

Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 05:01 PM |
KC - "It pains me to say so, but yes."
Zvon Jun 08 2008 05:03 PM |
Pop fly double, misplayed by Reyes imo.
metsguyinmichigan Jun 08 2008 05:06 PM |

Hmmmm. A coincidence?
Zvon Jun 08 2008 05:07 PM |

Tony Clark was a FA and our GM didn't sign him. Moron. I guess he didn't SUCK ENOUGH to be signed as a FA by our GM.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 05:16 PM |
There might not be a mid 9th.
Rockin' Doc Jun 08 2008 05:17 PM |
I starting to hate this team!!!
TransMonk Jun 08 2008 05:19 PM |
Just starting? Weekends like this have been happening for the better part of year now.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 05:21 PM |
OMG!!!!
bmfc1 Jun 08 2008 05:21 PM |
They might as well try to shed some salary because they can stink for far less money.
metirish Jun 08 2008 05:22 PM |

The joys of a .500 team , painful to watch and with the way the phillies are playing , wow. Mets used to play like that.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 08 2008 05:22 PM |
I think it's OK to boo now.
metsguyinmichigan Jun 08 2008 05:22 PM |
Gakking a four-game series to the Braves is one thing. But to do this to the stinking Padres is just inexcusable.
Zvon Jun 08 2008 05:24 PM |
Awful.
bmfc1 Jun 08 2008 05:24 PM |
This is what I wrote this morning and I think that it's even truer right now:
SteveJRogers Jun 08 2008 05:24 PM |
Well that weekend blew
metirish Jun 08 2008 05:25 PM |
Rogers is all over this terrible weekend.

MFS62 Jun 08 2008 06:05 PM |
I wonder if Oliver Perez is going to lash into Billy Wagner.
Fman99 Jun 08 2008 07:39 PM |
What a cockpunch of a weekend that was. Holy hell.
AG/DC Jun 08 2008 07:58 PM |
The worst part --- the worst part about being me, Hobson --- is that this sweep was so much like our 2007 collapse. We generally got the first lead, and then started playing to hold it rather than tack on. And, of course, we failed to hold it. Willie's bullpen moves seemed alternately overly cool and overly panicky, with none of the penners aware of a clear role for themselves.

I did think that after the fact ;)
Frayed Knot Jun 08 2008 08:22 PM |
This was truly a weird game - not to mention Murphy's Law all over the place.
themetfairy Jun 08 2008 08:25 PM |
Dear lord - NEVER say that!
soupcan Jun 09 2008 08:27 PM |
Oh, yeah? Try being in San Diego for the weekend. No fun.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 09 2008 08:29 PM |
You and Rogers went out there and screwed everything up.
Rockin' Doc Jun 09 2008 08:32 PM |
They were probably drinking beer and swapping Yankee anecdotes.
soupcan Jun 10 2008 10:25 AM |
Well - I am 0-4 this year.
Gwreck Jun 10 2008 10:45 AM |
Busted.
