Alou's calf "stiffened up" during the rain delay and is out today.
G-Fafif Jun 11 2008 04:19 PM |
Beat Brandon Webb...just for the hell of it.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 11 2008 05:17 PM |
Go Big Pelf. Destroyed the leadoff baserunner with a pickoff and it's 123
metirish Jun 11 2008 05:39 PM |
Minaya in the booth explaining what it is.........it's a " glut" that the Mets are in , at least I think that's what he said.
G-Fafif Jun 11 2008 05:42 PM |
Oh please tell me he and everybody are resigning.
metirish Jun 11 2008 05:48 PM |
I like how he lumped Ron and Gary in with " everyone that works here" wanting this thing to work , " because we all care"....
G-Fafif Jun 11 2008 05:55 PM |
I liked how one of the "theories" Omar didn't label a misconception is that the Mets suck.
metsguyinmichigan Jun 11 2008 05:59 PM |
Alou out of the line-up AGAIN???? In-freaking-credible.
metirish Jun 11 2008 06:01 PM |
Yeah but when Alou is healthy he can roll out of bed and get hits , problem is he gets injured rolling out of bed he's so shot.
G-Fafif Jun 11 2008 06:03 PM |
Mets Guy in Mich. and I are tied at a Joe Foyish 1,587 posts apiece!

Mets take it to Webb...literally.
metirish Jun 11 2008 06:10 PM |
Delgado hits one back to Webb who takes it on the arm or back , runners on the corners with one out , Mets up two tp zip.

Marlons puts his game where his bizarre note is. Either way, it's 3-0.

I'm back -- sneaking peeks at work.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 11 2008 06:21 PM |
That was a fun inning. You gotta love it when a guy whacks the opposing pitching in the ass with a line drive. And it was right that they got Beltran home after he drove in the first 2.

Nymr83 Jun 11 2008 06:38 PM |
why did webb leave??
metsguyinmichigan Jun 11 2008 06:40 PM |
I think it was because they're down three runs and needed some hits, hoped to get something going.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 11 2008 06:44 PM |
He got hit with a pitch trying to bunt last time out, IIRC.
Nymr83 Jun 11 2008 06:45 PM |

he threw 58 pitches over 5 and hadnt walked anyone, i'd have left him in
metirish Jun 11 2008 06:49 PM |
Webb was taken out because he took a liner from Delgado to the arm/back .

Mike Pelfrey just became a man.
metirish Jun 11 2008 06:55 PM |

"pitch-count shmitch-count" say Wayne Hagan and Howie Rose, send Pelfrey out for the 8th!
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 11 2008 07:01 PM |
Would be nice if anyone at the butt end of the lineup could reach base.

I'm guessing Ty Cobb for the AFLAC question. The man put up absolutely sick numbers from the start of his career as an 18 year old until the very end when in his early 40's.
AG/DC Jun 11 2008 07:09 PM |
Today Willie Randolph became a man.

Cobb. That was my second guess.

themetfairy Jun 11 2008 07:11 PM |
Did you see the look on Pelfrey's face when he saw the fans giving him the standing ovation after his at bat? That was a beautiful moment.

Rockin' Doc Jun 11 2008 07:13 PM |
Very unusual move for Willie to let Pelfrey bat for himself in the eighth. I whole heartedly approve of the move.

Un-freaking-believeable. I come home from work with what I thought was the game safely in hand and see this shit?

AG/DC Jun 11 2008 08:31 PM |
I'll sooner blame about Birthboy Boy and Castillo for getting thrown out in the eighth than blame people like KC or the missus.
KC Jun 11 2008 08:33 PM |
Well everyone was claiming blame so I thought I'd claim some.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 11 2008 08:33 PM |
I'm less about the CSes -- even though Spousy blames them too -- than the complete lack of production from Chavvy and Schneid.

Frayed Knot Jun 11 2008 08:35 PM |
Heilman continues his perfect vs perfectly awful dichotomy

Nymr83 Jun 11 2008 08:50 PM |
i think the only ones left in the pen are Schoenweis, who has been terrible especially lately, and Smith.

Sanchez too. All I think are as rested as Vargas or moreso, particularly Schoeneweis. Basic bullpen principles: 1) Your releivers should get gradually better as you approach the ninth, gradually worse as you proceed past the ninth into extra innings. 2) Your releivers should tend to get gradually less durable as you approach the ninth, gradually more durable as you proceed past the ninth into extra iinnings.
Frayed Knot Jun 11 2008 08:54 PM |
Santana is probably home and not available for pinch-running.
