I love this story; I think it's hilarious. It does underscore the fact that the DH will be with us for the foreseeable future, though.

Maybe if the AL abolished the DH, AL pitchers would be less likely to hurt themselves when playing real baseball.

Hank seems to be implying that the reason for the DH rule is to keep pitchers from getting injured as baserunners.

The DH rule exists so that the Yankees have somewhere to put all the overpaid "athletes" that they keep bringing in when they break down and can't play the field well anymore.
